Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is changing the lives of children with cancer by funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was 4, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand,” held with the help of her older brother Patrick, raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. While bravely fighting her own cancer, Alex continued to set up lemonade stands every year. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands — donating the proceeds to her cause. In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of 8 — her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began. Our mission is simple: to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Since Alex set up her first lemonade stand in 2000 — truly exemplifying the saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” — we have raised more than $250 million. That money has helped to: - Fund more than 1,000 cutting-edge research projects at nearly 150 institutions. - Create a Travel For Care program to help support families of children receiving treatment and develop resources, such as our SuperSibs program to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer. The mission of the American Brain Tumor Association is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis. We do this through interactions and engagements with brain tumor patients and their families, collaborations with allied groups and organizations, and the funding of brain tumor research.

CLRA supports research efforts towards finding the causes and a cure for leukemia and assists families in meeting the financial obligations incurred in treatment. We strive to be at the forefront of funding medical expenses for families affected by blood cancers and supporting groundbreaking hospital research, ultimately leading to enhanced treatments and a cure.

Children's Miracle Network saves the lives of children by raising funds and awareness for children's hospitals and foundations throughout the world. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion—most of it $1 at a time—for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

The mission of the NOCC is to save lives through the prevention and cure of ovarian cancer and to improve quality of life for survivors and their caregivers. Nearly 19,800+ women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 12,800+ women die from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early when the cancer is confined to the ovary, the five-year survival rate is over 90 percent. This is why it’s imperative that the early signs and symptoms are recognized not only by women, but by their families and the healthcare community.

The Jed Foundation works nationally to promote emotional health and prevent suicide in student populations. To achieve this end, the organization collaborates with the public and leaders in higher education, mental health, and research to produce and advance initiatives that: Decrease the stigma surrounding emotional disorders and increase help-seeking in college and other student populations Increase understanding of the warning signs of suicide and the symptoms of emotional disorders among students Build awareness of the prevalence of suicide and emotional disorders among students Strengthen campus mental health services, policies, and programs

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation is an organization that provides millions of dollars for novel Alzheimer’s research all over the world to investigate the latest, most promising research available. Our mission is to understand the causes of Alzheimer’s disease, improve the care of people living with it, and find a cure. A majority of our funding goes to the Fisher Center Lab at The Rockefeller University that was under the direction of the late Nobel laureate Dr. Paul Greengard, which is now under the leadership of Dr. Nathaniel Heintz. The Center has provided researchers around the globe with a conceptual framework for understanding the disease process and continues to be at the forefront of one day finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. We also fund research at NYU Langone, where a handful of clinical trials are taking place. The Foundation’s national comprehensive Alzheimer’s Information Program, the heart of which is the Foundation’s website, www.ALZinfo.org continues to spearhead efforts to increase awareness of and education about Alzheimer’s disease to the general public. The website provides in-depth information on the most current research studies, treatments, and disease management approaches. We also publish a magazine (Preserving Your Memory®) that provides readers with information about Alzheimer’s and how to take the necessary steps to prepare adequately if they or a loved one fall victim to the disease. Another facet of our Information Program is the e-newsletter, which contains updates and helpful tips. Our vision is working towards a future where Alzheimer’s is nothing but a memory.
