Freedom Foods / Kids Against Hunger

Kids Against Hunger is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to significantly reduce the number of undernourished children in the United States and to feed starving children throughout the world. Since its launch, Kids Against Hunger has provided over two billion meals for children and their families in more than 70 countries through the efforts of hundreds of thousands of volunteers. Our highly nutritious rice-soy casserole is fortified with 21 essential vitamins and 9 minerals in addition to our Fiesta Rice meal and Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal. These protein and nutrient-rich formulas reverse the starvation process and improves physical health as well as a child's mental capacity to learn. The goal of the organization is for its meals to provide a nutritional base from which recipient families can move their families to self-sufficiency.

Founded in 2013, the organization provides a 12 week healthy meal program to those in our community struggling with serious illness such as cancer. Teens are taught to cook and prepare these meals working under the supervision of a professional chef. The focus is on educating the youth and recipients on the health benefits of eating a organic, farm fresh, whole food based diet. We prepare over 360 servings each week, delivered to our clients doorstep.

Lunchbox Fund

Fostering education via nutrition, The Lunchbox Fund is an NGO dedicated to providing a daily meal for orphaned and vulnerable school children in township and rural areas of South Africa, a country where 65% of all children live in poverty. Receiving food encourages these children to stay in school and obtain their education. Support The Enlisted Project (STEP)

Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) provides emergency financial and transition assistance grants to active duty and recently discharged enlisted military and their families. Financial assistance is provided in 12 categories encompassing a wide range of emergency needs. Military and veteran families often struggle to meet their most basic needs due to California's high cost of living index. Awarding financial assistance as a grant, not a loan, ensures that these families can move forward without the burden or worry of paying off another debt. The war in Afghanistan is winding down and our service members are returning home to fight a very different battle. Severe defense budget cuts are forcing hundreds of thousands of service members to involuntarily separate from the military with very little resources, support, or opportunities for employment. STEP will continue our efforts to support active duty military families, but now we also pay special attention to our recently discharged veterans as they struggle to successfully reintegrate back into civilian society. STEP is a reliable, relevant, and responsive Southern California resource that our Nation's heroes and their families can depend upon in their time of need.
