Ecosystem Restoration Camps

From the degraded rainforests of Brazil to the arid landscapes of Morocco, Ecosystem Restoration Communities is a global movement that harnesses the collective power of individuals and communities to restore our planet’s ecosystems. Change takes root when it’s locally driven - and that’s why Ecosystem Restoration Communities are born, led, and sustained by the people who live there. Grounded in trust and community knowledge, they grow lasting solutions that ripple outward, educating, inspiring, and creating regional impact far beyond what traditional top-down conservation can achieve. When you support us, you help communities as they restore their land and livelihoods and foster a deep connection to nature - bringing hope, resilience, and global impact. Our mission is to: a) contribute to a fully functioning, peaceful, abundant and biologically diverse Earth through co-operative efforts for the ecological restoration of degraded lands; b) stimulate and support community based initiative, leadership, and capacity to implement activities and undertake interventions that result in restored ecological function, climate resilience, biodiversity enrichment, and restored water cycles while at the same time enhancing livelihoods and human well-being; c) disseminate knowledge, innovations and insights emanating from these community-based initiatives to policy makers, academia, practitioners and the general public; and d) train large numbers of people to restore the fundamental ecological integrity of earth, and to connect knowledge and expertise about these activities worldwide.

Crossing Borders

Crossing Borders (CB) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organisation. The vision of CB is a world in peace with itself in which diversity is celebrated. The mission is to create dialogue space toward such a world and to build the capacity of youth, media workers and educators to realise the above vision. The overall goal is to enable people with different backgrounds to learn to live together on equal terms. Crossing Borders started as a project in 1999 in Denmark in support of meaningful dialogue between the conflict parties in the Middle East. In response to increased activities and demands for the CB concept and services, it was transformed, in 2004, into a dynamic organization with activities in Denmark and abroad.

Kreisau-Initiative e.V.

The Kreisau-Initiative e.V. was founded 1989 to address the need for international understanding, democratic education, and active engagement in human rights, particularly in response to Europe's history of division, conflict, and authoritarianism. The Kreisau-Initiative is committed to promoting democracy, human rights, social inclusion, and sustainability through international educational programs and cross-cultural dialogue. Rooted in the legacy of the Kreisau Circle, a German resistance group against Nazism, its mission is to empower individuals - especially young people - to actively shape just, inclusive, and democratic societies. At its core, the Kreisau-Initiative responds to persistent social challenges such as discrimination, social exclusion, extremism, and a lack of opportunities for youth participation in shaping democratic, inclusive societies. Recognizing that many young people - especially those from marginalized backgrounds - face barriers to education, empowerment, and cross-cultural exchange, the organization promotes non-formal education as a tool for social change. Today, the need for fostering social cohesion, gender equality, human rights awareness, and sustainability remains as urgent as ever. The Kreisau-Initiative continues to address these challenges by creating spaces for learning, dialogue, and action, empowering individuals to become active, responsible members of a democratic and diverse Europe. The organization's priority objectives are: - To foster social cohesion by addressing discrimination, exclusion, and extremism. - To promote human rights education and critical engagement with history to strengthen democratic values. - To advance gender equality and support marginalized groups through empowerment and participation. - To encourage socio-ecological transformation, raising awareness of sustainable development and climate justice. - To provide spaces for intercultural exchange, enabling young people to develop skills in dialogue, cooperation, and civic responsibility. Through non-formal education, transnational partnerships, and youth-centered approaches, the Kreisau-Initiative equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to drive positive social change across Europe and beyond.

WWF-Turkiye

WWF-Turkiye carries out its work across six main global focus areas: Oceans, Biodiversity, Freshwater, Climate and Energy, Forests, and Soil Protection. In line with these priorities, the organization also undertakes initiatives in areas such as Education, Plastics, and other related issues. WWF-Turkiye aims to tackle human-induced threats-including habitat destruction, climate change, overexploitation of natural resources, pollution, and illegal hunting-with the overarching goal of halting species loss and the degradation of natural ecosystems. In line with the global 2030 goals, WWF-Turkiye collaborates with public institutions and stakeholders to contribute to the 30x30 target for terrestrial and marine protected areas and to achieve climate targets aligned with the 1.5-degree limit. WWF-Turkiye has supported the protection of key species such as sea turtles and played a critical role in designating ecologically important bird and plant sites, including 20 protected areas. The organization promotes sustainable fishing by collaborating with small-scale fisheries, local producers, and public institutions. It aims to prevent overfishing, unregulated practices, and seagrass degradation in the Mediterranean, while also developing projects to tackle marine and terrestrial plastic pollution and advocating for global plastic agreements. Located in a wildfire-prone region, WWF-Turkiye works alongside volunteer veterinarians to care for wildlife affected by forest fires, engages local communities in fire prevention efforts, and supports ecological restoration. Additionally, WWF-Turkiye provides assistance to injured or distressed wildlife through a dedicated support hotline and partners with local authorities to engage the wider public in dolphin and bird watching activities. On the climate front, as part of the local Climate Network, WWF-Turkiye advocates for the net zero target, promotes the adoption of science-based climate policies and instruments, and aims to strengthen the technical capacities of institutions, the private sector, and civil society. The organization works to shape Turkiye's climate policies on a more inclusive foundation and supports concrete actions in key areas such as the energy transition. One of WWF-Turkiye's most significant initiatives is promoting sustainable agriculture by collaborating with local producers and public institutions to implement regenerative practices and improve water and soil management in cotton farming, thereby supporting the development of a climate-resilient textile supply chain. WWF-Turkiye designs and implements conservation projects that consider the economic, social, and cultural needs of local communities. It offers practical solutions through collaboration with public institutions, local authorities, academia, the private sector, and other stakeholders, focusing on best practices, policy development, capacity building, and education.

Seva Mandir

Seva Mandir's mission is to make real the idea of society consisting of free and equal citizens who are able to come together and solve the problems that affect them in their particular contexts. The commitment is to work for a paradigm of development and governance that is democratic and polyarchic. Seva Mandir seeks to institutionalise the idea that development and governance is not only to be left to the State and its formal bodies like the legislature and the bureaucracy, but that citizens and their associations should engage separately and jointly with the State. The mission briefly, is to construct the conditions in which citizens of plural backgrounds and perspectives can come together and deliberate on how they can work to benefit and empower the least advantaged in society.
