Seva Mandir's mission is to make real the idea of society consisting of free and equal citizens who are able to come together and solve the problems that affect them in their particular contexts. Corals for Conservation (C4C) addresses poverty-driven coral reef decline by developing sustainable, community-appropriate enterprises designed to shift the burden away from over-used and depleted fisheries resources. C4C promotes "coral gardeners" as new profession for resorts, providing employment and added value to the industry while contributing to coral reef conservation and restoration. We recognize that if people and industry are major parts of the problem then they are also major parts of the solution.
