Heifer is on a mission to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by investing in agriculture and supporting small-scale farmers to earn a sustainable living income and better integrate rural women, youth and indigenous populations into more inclusive value chains. To achieve our goals, we operate in the mentioned 19 countries across four continents through locally staffed and led offices. HNL is part of the global Heifer International network and operates as Heifer's gateway to Europe. HNL focusses on building partnerships and raising funds from European donors to support local initiatives, such as this proposed project in Bangladesh. While the local Heifer team in Bangladesh manages project design and implementation, HNL is responsible for mobilizing and securing funding partners and managing donor relationships after a grant has been approved. As such, HNL also oversees coordination with donors' grant preferences. Grants and donations that HNL receives for specific projects such as this one, are transferred one-on-one to the relevant Heifer office in the country of project implementation, in this case Bangladesh. Empowering women is one of the cornerstones in Heifer's approach. Since 1999 HNL has raised funds that supported 109266 female farmers. In FY 2024, HNL has supported 15568 female farmers. Heifer started working in Bangladesh in 2006, and to date have supported more than 139000 families across 6 districts in the northern part of the country.
The Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) is a trans-national disaster aid alliance that works to facilitate cooperation and understanding between governments, private companies and NGOs in the Asia Pacific region. We will facilitate collaboration among the member countries for the purpose of delivering effective and efficient disaster assistance through disaster preparedness, risk reduction, relief and recovery. A pre-agreement among governments, private companies, and NGOs would make it possible for us to act together and deliver even more effective and efficient disaster assistance to disaster victims. Each country, however, sends their team separately, and their rescue efforts are often conducted independently of each other. It is true that each country is trying to do its best in rescuing disaster victims. Yet, if we could reach a pre-agreement, not merely among nations but also between different sectors, to act together to fight any future disaster... We would be able to deliver even more efficient and effective disaster aid to even more people, in even less time.
Vast majorities of the people in our operational areas are very poor, destitute, disadvantage living much below the subsistence level and others are passing through hardcore situation. They do not know or have not the minimum capability to change their situation. In this context we have taken integrated initiatives to cooperate those who are eager most to change from this stated situation to a better one encouraging their direct participation ensuring need-based various development and rehabilitation support and services.
Mission Statement of Nari Mukto Kontho Samajkallyan Songstha (NMKSS) Nari Mukto Kontho Samajkallyan Songstha (NMKSS) exists to uplift the voices, rights, and livelihoods of Bangladesh's most overlooked citizens-especially women, children, and minority communities who, despite their rightful citizenship, remain excluded from recognition, opportunity, and dignity. Our mission is rooted in the belief that sustainable development must begin with inclusion, equity, and empowerment at the grassroots level. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Dinajpur District, NMKSS is a women-led, community-driven organization that works to dismantle systemic barriers faced by vulnerable populations-particularly those living in poverty, affected by gender-based violence, or belonging to ethnic groups that are historically marginalized. We recognize that many of these communities, though legally citizens of Bangladesh, are denied access to basic services, social recognition, and economic mobility. NMKSS is committed to changing that reality. Our mission is to create a more just and inclusive society by empowering underrepresented groups through education, healthcare, legal literacy, behavioral transformation, and sustainable livelihoods. We work at the intersection of social justice and community development, guided by the principles of dignity, equity, and local ownership. Our Core Focus Areas: - Empowering Women and Girls We believe that women are the backbone of resilient communities. NMKSS provides vocational training in tailoring, handicrafts, ICT, and mobile servicing, alongside entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs. We support the formation of women-led cooperatives and self-help groups (SHGs) that foster savings, credit access, and collective agency. Special attention is given to widows, single mothers, and adolescent girls at risk of early marriage or exploitation. - Supporting Children's Education and Well-being We establish non-formal learning centers in underserved areas, distribute school supplies, and conduct parent awareness sessions to improve literacy and school attendance among children aged 5-16. Our programs also include nutrition support and psychosocial care, ensuring that children not only attend school but thrive in safe, nurturing environments. - Promoting Health and Behavioral Change NMKSS organizes health camps focused on maternal, child, and adolescent care. We conduct menstrual hygiene management workshops and nutrition campaigns to improve community health outcomes. Importantly, we work with families to address harmful behaviors-such as alcohol dependency-and guide them toward healthier, more stable lifestyles through counseling, livelihood support, and peer engagement. - Preventing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) We offer legal aid, referral services, and psychosocial support for survivors of GBV. Our community-based anti-GBV groups engage men, youth, and religious leaders in shifting harmful norms and promoting gender equality. Legal literacy campaigns empower women to understand and assert their rights, while baseline and end-line surveys help us track impact and adapt strategies. - Serving Marginalized Ethnic and Minority Communities NMKSS works closely with small ethnic groups and disenfranchised citizens-those who are Bangladeshi by birth but often denied recognition or access to services. We provide targeted support in education, livelihood, and legal inclusion, and advocate for their visibility in local governance and development planning. Our work includes distributing goats for income generation, food relief during floods, and skill development for unemployed youth from minority backgrounds. - Building Local Leadership and Sustainability We strengthen community-based organizations (CBOs) and train local youth as peer educators and facilitators. Our sustainability strategy includes linking SHGs with microfinance institutions, partnering with local government bodies, and embedding monitoring and evaluation systems that ensure transparency and long-term impact. NMKSS believes that true change is only possible when communities lead their own development. Our Approach NMKSS combines grassroots action with strategic partnerships. We collaborate with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, local government offices, and civil society actors to scale our impact. Our programs are designed with built-in risk mitigation strategies, including contingency budgeting, emergency preparedness, and community engagement to address social resistance. We prioritize data-driven decision-making through monthly progress reports, quarterly stakeholder reviews, and annual external evaluations. Our tools include attendance sheets, beneficiary tracking forms, and mobile-based monitoring systems. Our Vision for the Future We envision a Bangladesh where every woman and child-regardless of ethnicity, income, or social status-can live with dignity, opportunity, and hope. A society where minority communities are not just acknowledged but celebrated, and where grassroots leadership drives inclusive development. The Kreisau-Initiative e.V. was founded 1989 to address the need for international understanding, democratic education, and active engagement in human rights, particularly in response to Europe's history of division, conflict, and authoritarianism. The Kreisau-Initiative is committed to promoting democracy, human rights, social inclusion, and sustainability through international educational programs and cross-cultural dialogue. Rooted in the legacy of the Kreisau Circle, a German resistance group against Nazism, its mission is to empower individuals - especially young people - to actively shape just, inclusive, and democratic societies. At its core, the Kreisau-Initiative responds to persistent social challenges such as discrimination, social exclusion, extremism, and a lack of opportunities for youth participation in shaping democratic, inclusive societies. Recognizing that many young people - especially those from marginalized backgrounds - face barriers to education, empowerment, and cross-cultural exchange, the organization promotes non-formal education as a tool for social change. Today, the need for fostering social cohesion, gender equality, human rights awareness, and sustainability remains as urgent as ever. The main object for which the Company is established (the Main Object) is to bridge the gap between academia, industry and NGOs to give Irish engineers and scientists opportunities to learn about and contribute to sustainable development globally. We do this by partnering with disadvantaged communities, both in Ireland and overseas, to improve their quality of life through education and implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while promoting global experience for engineers, engineering students, and similarly motivated non-engineers.

Street Child Nederland's social mission is to ensure that every child, especially girls and children from marginalised communities, has access to inclusive, quality education in a safe and supportive environment. We work to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion by addressing the root causes that keep children out of school, including gender inequality, economic hardship, and social marginalisation. Our priority objective is to create sustainable and community-driven solutions that not only improve access to education but also strengthen child protection, family resilience, and local capacity.
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) - translated as Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organisation founded by doctors and journalists in 1971 in Paris. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff - bound together by our charter. We are a global movement, with staff from over 160 countries. MSF provides medical relief to the victims of war, disease and natural or man-made disaster, without regard to race, religion, or political affiliation. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation. The association's independence is guaranteed by the fact that it is funded 99% privately, mainly by individual donors and companies. MSF is an international movement of associations organised in 23 sections and 6 operational centers. The executive entities (sections and delegated offices) are linked to one of MSF's operational centers: Amsterdam (OCA), Barcelona-Athens (OCBA), Brussels (OCB), Geneva (OCG) and Paris (OCP). Operations are run from these centers. Each operational center has its own patterning with its partner sections. Since 2019, an association has been added to the list of entities that can lead operations: WaCA (West and Central Africa). 91.2% of our expenses are directly allocated to the social mission, with only 8.4% of operating & fundraising expenses. MSF makes financial transparency and rigorous management of its accounts a priority. The 3 audits of the Cour des Comptes (The French Court of Auditors) in 1998, 2004 and 2010 resulted in particularly commendable reports. Logistical strength: MSF Logistique (located in Merignac, France), is a dedicated entity created in 1986. The Merignac base is one of the world's largest centres for the transport of humanitarian supplies, with 18,500 m of storage space. It allows us to be very responsive in our operations, with the possibility of sending more than 100 tons of emergency supplies in 24 hours. Driving change: new approaches for greater impact. Throughout its history, MSF has sought to create dynamics for change and to benefit the populations it serves.
