Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Our program, however, is about more than just sports. Special Olympics Virginia's year round programs in Health, Education and Community Building address inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people of all abilities. Dedicated to providing high-quality aquatics facilities and programs for families and organizations in the Santa Ynez Valley. The foundation's immediate project is to replace the existing pool located on the grounds of Santa Ynez Valley Union High School, and open the new pool up to a much wider segment of our community.
To provide instruction and training at all levels of swimming to all interested youth of the northfield area. Purpose: to accomplish it's mission by striving for these four goals: 1. To assist all enrolled athletes to develop the skills inherent in the sport of swimming through expert instruction and close supervision; 2. To enhance the self-image and self-esteem of participants through positive experiences in practice sessions and competitions as appropriate; 3. To sponsor competitors in divisions appropriate to participants athletic skill and guidelines of the MSI; and to host two or more home meets each season for these competitors and others; 4. To promote swimming in the Northfield area, and to encourage NSC participants to continue their training and achievement through participation in programs at area schools.
Winding Trails, Inc. is a non-profit, organization serving people from Farmington and surrounding communities, providing year round recreational and educational activities for the enjoyment and growth of families and individuals of all ages. Winding Trails is dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of the natural woodlands and waterways that allow outdoor programming, character development, and other activities that strengthen the lives of those we serve.
The Unity Express program seeks to develop, strengthen and build character, confidence, values and positive self esteem through guidance, education, athletic training and competition for young individuals.
Our mission is to provide the adaptive sport of SCUBA Diving for the benefit of military veterans, people living with disabilities, and other special needs groups for the purposes of social interaction, life enrichment, wellness, and rehabilitation.
