BRAWS- Bringing Resources to Aid Women's Shelters

The majority of individuals in a homeless shelter at any given time are women and their children. These women are typically victims of domestic violence and are fleeing an abusive home looking to start over in a safe environment. Many other women in shelters are single mothers who lost their jobs due to unforeseen circumstances and need help to get back on their feet. Regardless of the situation that led these women to homelessness, they need support - both physical and emotional - to transition to a better life for themselves and their children. BRAWS mission is to support these women by providing new (tags on, only) bras and underwear, as well as feminine hygiene supplies. Unbeknownst to many people, these are some of the most requested critical needs by women in shelters. New bras and underwear and tampons, pads, and pantyliners are rarely donated, expensive items for a shelter to replenish, and not covered by food stamps. Insufficient access to these items often leads to unsanitary conditions and health problems.

In this program we concentrate on establishing and building positive character into these young men, which would ultimately cause these GENTLEMEN to be DISTINGUISHED, in their schools, in their community, in their families, and in society. Sell To A Veteran is comprised of real estate professionals (brokers/agents, lawyers, movers, inspectors, insurance companies, etc.) ready to provide you, the Veteran, with answers to all of the questions you have concerning buying, selling and/or refinancing a home. We will seamlessly walk you through the entire process and assist you in utilizing your VA benefits (primarily your VA loan). Sell To A Veteran was founded on the premise of directly educating the millions of active military personnel and the over 20 million veterans on sustainable home ownership, financial-literacy, and how to tap into your VA benefits wisely. Additionally, Sell To A Veteran raises money to assist you, the Veteran, in covering some of the costs that are associated with financing the purchase of your new home - earnest money, closing costs, and home repairs if needed. Now with expert realtors, direct VA approved home loan lenders, legal representation, home inspectors, and more, deserving veterans can finally realize the American dream. United States Veterans Initiative (U.S.Vets)

U.S.VETS mission is the successful transition of military veterans and their families through the provision of housing, counseling, career development, and comprehensive support. U.S.VETS is the largest veteran-specific non-profit housing and service provider in the country with 10 sites in five states (AZ, CA, HI, NV, and TX) and the District of Columbia. Since its inception in 1993, U.S.VETS has engaged over 135,000 veterans, provided residential services to nearly 50,000 veterans and placed 13,000 veterans into jobs. Core services include supportive transitional and permanent housing and employment assistance to help homeless and at-risk veterans achieve self-sufficiency.
