Provide emergency food and clothing support to people who are in need.

Silverton Area Community Aid (SACA) is a non-profit social service organization whose mission is to improve lives by providing food, services and access to community resources. We provide emergency food, financial assistance and other services to people in need within the Silver Falls School District. Through our food pantry in 2020, we served an average of 209 households each month (about 640 people), providing them with a 3-5-day supply of food at each visit. We also provided over $107,000 in emergency financial aid to help residents of our community stay in their homes, pay utility bills, pay for prescriptions, receive dental care, and get to job interviews and other important appointments by providing bus passes and fuel vouchers. In 2021, the need is even greater.

Providing nutritious food to individuals and families that are food insecure in South Clatsop County (Seaside, Gearhart, and Cannon Beach).

:  To provide an efficient and coordinated system for the collection and distribution of food to the participating feeding agencies in our service area. Additionally, to increase public awareness regarding hunger so that individuals and organizations in our local communities are inspired to donate food, funds, time and ideas to reduce or minimize hunger for our needy population.  : As defined by Feeding America our service area consists of Placer, El Dorado, and Nevada Counties in Northern California.

Since 1986, SFC has provided families with a hospitable place to receive nutritious food and needed clothing. Since our inception, we have expanded our basic services to include low income housing, ESL/GED programs, a small school, two huge community gardens, a chidren's community library, a lundry and shower, and an after-school youth & family center.SFC is a “place of miracles”; it was founded to provide food, clothing, and other essential services for “working poor” families who, though working at one and sometimes two low paying jobs, find it very difficult to pay both the exorbitant rental costs and provide basic necessities for their families. We strive to provide all services keeping forefront in our minds and actions our motto: “compassion not judgment."

Meals on Wheels America is the leadership organization supporting the more than 5,000 community-based programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior isolation and hunger. This network serves virtually every community in America and, along with more than two million staff and volunteers, delivers the nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that enable America’s seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity. By providing funding, leadership, education, research and advocacy support, Meals on Wheels America empowers its local member programs to strengthen their communities, one senior at a time. Appetite For Change uses food as a tool to build health, wealth and social change in North Minneapolis.

Motivated by the love of God, Oakland Hope will serve our neighbors in need of food and resources in Oakland County.
