Growing Home’s mission is to operate, promote, and demonstrate the use of organic urban agriculture as a vehicle for job training, employment, and community development. Our unique employment training program uses farming to teach transferable skills to individuals with barriers to employment, giving them the opportunity to secure full-time, stable jobs. The Dan Marino Foundation, Inc., a 501(c) 3 organization was established in 1992 by Dan and Claire Marino, motivated by their experiences in raising their son, Michael, who is diagnosed with autism. The Foundation's mission is "empowering individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities." For over 22 years, the Foundation has served individuals with disabilities in South Florida through therapies, research, education, and employment, and raised more than $50 million to create unique and impactful initiatives in the community. Among these "first-of-their-kind" initiatives are the Miami Children's Hospital Dan Marino Center, Childnett.tv, the Marino Autism Research Institute, Marino Adapted Aquatics, Summer STEPS Employment Programs, and Marino Campus, a new post-secondary educational opportunity for young adults, ages 18-28, with autism and other developmental disabilities.

A Catalyst for the Disability Employment Movement, the National Organization on Disability (NOD) is a private, non-profit organization that promotes the full participation of America’s 56 million people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Today, NOD focuses on increasing employment opportunities for the 79 percent of working-age Americans with disabilities who are not employed. With programs on the ground, NOD is demonstrating new employment practices and models of service delivery, evaluating results, and sharing successful approaches for widespread replication. We are conducting research on disability employment issues, including the field’s most widely used polls on employment trends and the quality of life for people with disabilities. And our subject matter experts in disability and employment provide consulting services to public agencies and employers seeking to harness the unique talents that people with disabilities can bring to the workforce. To achieve our goals, we work in partnership with employers, schools, the military, service providers, researchers, and disability advocates. Our current employment programs are benefiting high school students with disabilities transitioning into the workforce, seriously injured service members, employers seeking to become more disability friendly, and state governments engaged in policy reform.

We're a Detroit-based nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless community. We hire homeless women from local shelters to become full time seamstresses. These women manufacture a coat that transforms into a sleeping bag, which is then given out to homeless individuals living on the streets at no cost to them. We believe in giving second chances to those who want it, and providing warmth to those who need it.

Founded in 1817, the American School for the Deaf is the country's oldest and Connecticut's only educational organization exclusively devoted to serving the deaf community. A private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, ASD provides comprehensive educational services for deaf and deaf with special needs infants, children, youth, adults and their families. The school is located on a 54-acre, 14-building campus in West Hartford, Connecticut. The mission of the American School for the Deaf is to provide a comprehensive program for the development of the intellect and the enhancement of the quality of life for the deaf and hard of hearing community by serving as a multi-purpose institution furnishing educational and vocational programs for deaf children, youth, adults and their families.
