Centro Hispano de Frederick helps limited-English-proficiency immigrants and their families in Frederick County access services to succeed and participate fully in the community. Programs include English and citizenship classes, youth STEAM/after-school activities, senior enrichment, legal referrals, and other family support services.
Our mission is the development and empowerment of the Latinx community througheducation, art, and cultural programming for young people and adults. Based on family,student, and faculty interests and talents, we collaboratively design classes in the areas of environmental sciences, STEM, dramatic and visual arts, media productions, music, and sports. Center for New Americans (CNA) is a community-based, non-profit adult education center providing the immigrant, refugee and migrant communities of the Pioneer Valley with education and resources to learn English, become involved members of their communities and obtain tools necessary to maintain economic independence and stability.
Our mission is "to advance the social and economic well-being of low and moderate income Thais and other ethnic communities in the greater Los Angeles area through a comprehensive community development strategy including human rights advocacy, affordable housing, access to healthcare, promotion of small businesses, neighborhood empowerment, and social enterprises."
The Jubilee House Community is a faith-based organization, ministering to the poor by meeting human needs and promoting reconciliation, accompanying communities in their efforts to become self-sufficient, sustainable, democratic entities. The work of the JHC has always been flexible, adapting to community needs and priorities. The JHC's project, the Center for Development in Central America (CDCA), began in 1993 in response to needs expressed by local Nicaraguan community leaders, and continues to develop in partnership with communities.
ReWA is a non-profit, multi-ethnic organization that promotes inclusion, independence, personal leadership, and strong communities by providing refugee and immigrant women and their families with culturally and linguistically appropriate services. ReWA advocates for social justice, public policy changes, and equal access to services while respecting cultural values and the right to self-determination.
