Founded in 1982 and a certified member of Feeding America, The Houston Food Bank's mission is to provide food for better lives. In the last fiscal year, which includes COVID-19 response, we provided access to 159 million nutritious meals in 18 counties in southeast Texas through our 1,600 community partners of food pantries, soup kitchens, social service providers and schools. Filling gaps on plates, we have a strong focus on healthy foods and fresh produce. In collaboration with our community, we advocate for policy change and racial equity, and promote dialogue on ways to increase access to food and to improve the lives of those in our communities, including services and connections to programs that address the root causes of hunger and are aimed at helping families achieve long-term stability: nutrition education, job training, health management, and help with securing state-funded assistance.

Advocates for Children and Families, Inc. (ACF) was founded in 1992 to provide ethical adoption services to children and families. Throughout our 30 years of operation there have been many changes in legislation and advances in the evidence-based social sciences related to adoption, that have influenced our model of practice. One aspect of our work that has never changed is ACF's child-centered approach of prioritizing the well-being of children. Our mission is to promote and assist in the formation of stable families. The well-being of children is our priority. We believe every child deserves a permanent home in a safe, nurturing environment.  Our team is comprised of attorneys, licensed mental health professionals, and support staff who are specially trained and continually engaged in advancements within the field of child welfare and adoption. ACF's commitment to advocating for children and families has resulted in over 1,026 children finding stability and permanency within a nurturing family. Charitable contributions allow us to: 1) Find forever families for children with special needs. 2) Meet basic needs including housing, utilities, food, and clothing for families in crisis. 3) Support parents in creating individualized solution-focused plans to move from crisis to stability. 4) Provide trauma-informed clinical counseling services.

The National Domestic Violence Hotline creates access by providing 24-hour support through advocacy, safety planning, resources and hope to everyone affected by domestic violence. We answer the call to support and shift power back to those affected by relationship abuse. We envision a world where all relationships are positive, healthy, and free from violence.

Be The Match Foundation supports the life-saving mission of Be The Match/National Marrow Donor Program, ensuring that patients diagnosed with blood cancers such as leukemia and other diseases get the marrow or cord blood transplant they need for a second chance at life. A transplant offers hope for a cure. We connect patients with their genetically matched donors and provide comprehensive support throughout the transplant journey, from diagnosis through recovery.

A.C.E is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to strengthen undeserved communities by assisting individuals through education, vocational training, leadership development and community engagement.

Promises2Kids’ mission is to create a brighter future for foster children. From the moment they come into foster care and through to adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the hope, support, and opportunities these individuals need to change their lives for the better - now and for years to come.

The Night Ministry was created out of diverse religious traditions to build relationships with vulnerable youth and adults on the nighttime streets. Today, we build relationships in a variety of settings. Through these relationships and the provision of housing, health, outreach, spiritual, and social services, we seek to empower people of all ages to meet their own needs. Recognizing the uniqueness, dignity, and value of each person, we accept individuals as they are, in an affirming and compassionate manner. We call the larger community to the same mission. Since 1976, The Night Ministry, a non-profit, non-denominational social service organization has served people at difficult crossroads in their lives. We work to build relationships with youth and adults we serve - regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification or social status. We offer concrete services in compassionate, accepting environments. Through our two programs, Outreach & Health, and Youth Services, we provide basic resources, free healthcare, housing and supportive services for youth, referrals to other resources, and more. We do not proselytize, evangelize or espose any particular faith tradition. Our ministry is one of serving. The Night Ministry serves homeless and runaway youth, working poor adults, uninsured and underinsured individuals seeking medical assistance and others Staff and volunteers work to build non-judgmental relationships aimed at empowering individuals to meet their own needs. We try to help those we serve find and use their own strengths and resources.

Operating under the wing of Worldwide Friends, a distinguished U.S.-based 501c3 organization, we were born from the collective determination of visionary entrepreneurs. Our origin was an emergency response to Russia's unjustified aggression against Ukraine, sparking our commitment to deliver critical aid on the ground. In resolute solidarity with Israel, our mission is clear: to provide essential humanitarian aid and tactical support exactly where it's needed most. Our approach is marked by thoughtfulness and deliberate action, ensuring that we adapt swiftly as the needs of those we serve evolve. Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a community dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” to children and their families coping with cancer, sickle cell anemia, and other serious illnesses. Through summer sessions and family weekends at the Camp in Ashford, Connecticut and year-round outreach to hospitals and clinics across the Northeast, the Camp serves more than 20,000 children and family members annually. All services are provided free of charge.
