Our mission is to nurture generations of passionate learners, critical thinkers and active citizens through Design, Make, Play — an approach to learning that encourages hands-on experimentation, critical thinking, and iterative problem-solving. Through Design, Make, Play, NYSCI aspires to create a distinctive set of resources that have a measurable and scalable impact on how people learn. The museum anchors and inspires all the work we do, fostering public engagement in STEM, and supporting our youth development program, education offerings and research. We have developed innovative products to extend this learning far beyond our walls, and our extensive network of partnerships deepens and broadens our impact, locally and around the world.

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education inspires meaningful connections between people and nature. We use our forests and fields as a living laboratory to foster appreciation, deepen understanding, and encourage stewardship of the environment. As a leader in the next generation of environmental education, the Schuylkill Center will create a world where all people play, learn, and grow with nature as part of their everyday lives.

The Big Imagination Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We incubate bold, visionary projects that inspire the world to dream big. Our projects don’t fit into boxes. They rely on radical collaboration and community support. They provide opportunities for education and participation. They are experiences open to everyone. The Museum of Prairiefire Foundation (Museum at Prairiefire) is committed to innovative learning in science, the arts and natural history. Through a founding collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, as well as with other cultural and educational institutions in the nation, the Museum at Prairiefire is a place that provides ACCESS FOR ALL to understand and celebrate natural history and science in our region and around the world. The MAP engages visitors and students of all ages with world-class exhibitions, important programming, and provides significant educational and STEAM opportunities for underserved children through KC Urban Advantage.

Through its materials, resources, and programs, the ASP promotes public science interest, engagement, and literacy through the awe and wonder of astronomy and related fields.
