Sheltering Wings provides emergency housing for survivors escaping from any form of domestic abuse. We build stable and independent lives through essential programs offered in a supportive and Christ-centered environment.

The Crisis Center is a non-profit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services to victims of domestic violence, and addresses the societal issues that contribute to domestic violence. The Crisis Center serves the Greater Chicago Southland, the main focus areas being the ten townships in its original service area: Bloom, Bremen, Calumet, Lemont, Orland, Palos, Rich, Stickney, Thornton, and Worth. This encompasses the Circuit Court of Cook County Fifth and Sixth Municipal Districts in Bridgeview and Markham. However, clients come from all over the state of Illinois, from other states, and occasionally from other countries.

The Network - Advocating Against Domestic Violence is a collaborative membership organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by domestic violence through education, public policy and advocacy, and connection of community members to direct service providers.

Apna Ghar provides critical, comprehensive, culturally competent services, and conducts outreach and advocacy across communities to end gender violence. Apna Ghar seeks to end gender violence through a three- pronged approach of highly effective and innovative services for survivors and those who perpetrate harm, advocacy and community education and accountability.

Our mission is to provide emergency shelter and supportive services to victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence victims are frightened for themselves and their children. It is often difficult for them to leave or stay and maintain safety for many reasons including that they are often blamed for their own victimization. It is vital to the safety of our community that victims are provided effective services and those who use harm in relationships are held accountable. Domestic violence is a societal problem that results in disruption and trauma in the lives of individual victims. Our vision is a community where families are safe in their own home. We seek to create a safer community through quality services. We know that our clients deserve adequate housing, resources, other supports and information to choose healthy and safe alternatives and reduce the violence in their lives. We believe collaborating with others in the community will provide the strongest trauma-informed services to our clients Our work is focused on achieving racial equity, gender equality, and welcome for all members of our community. The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois works to eliminate domestic violence in individual lives and society as a whole.

Our mission is to create and to sustain a safe environment that empowers women and children through preventative education and advocacy, which promotes stronger individuals, families, and communities.

Empower individuals and families through education, safety, and support and lead our community to reduce the incidents and the effects of domestic abuse and dating violence.

Provide a continuum of safe, confidential shelter options—from emergency shelter through transitional shelter.Provide a rich array of crisis intervention services, case management and emotional support to those we shelter as well as those who are waiting for shelter; helping them to rebuild their lives, free from fear.Address the many complexities and barriers associated with domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence and stalking on an individual level as well as a community systems level.Continue to reach out to survivors through individual advocacy, emergency case management and support groups after they leave shelter, offering an environment where survivors feel welcome and are encouraged to share their stories and their wisdom with others.
