Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is changing the lives of children with cancer by funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was 4, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand,” held with the help of her older brother Patrick, raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. While bravely fighting her own cancer, Alex continued to set up lemonade stands every year. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands — donating the proceeds to her cause. In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of 8 — her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began. Our mission is simple: to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Since Alex set up her first lemonade stand in 2000 — truly exemplifying the saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” — we have raised more than $250 million. That money has helped to: - Fund more than 1,000 cutting-edge research projects at nearly 150 institutions. - Create a Travel For Care program to help support families of children receiving treatment and develop resources, such as our SuperSibs program to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer. From the website: "American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC) was founded by Danny Thomas in 1957 to be the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and its sole mission is to raise the funds and awareness necessary to operate and maintain the hospital. In the years ahead, an estimated 89% of the funds necessary to sustain and grow St. Jude must be raised by ALSAC from generous donors."

The NPCF (founded May 2009) strives to provide quality of life, sustainability and dignity to those we serve. Through our volunteers we provide an opportunity of hope and caring for those afflicted by this devastating disease. We also provide the opportunity for their family members to help fight one of the leading causes of cancer deaths in the United States. There is no known cure, however, there are new developments everyday to prolong and sustain the quality of life of the patient.

To maximize dollars available for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's most promising lifesaving research, treatment and prevention programs, while supporting the psychosocial needs of patients and families touched by cancer. Fundraising events and initiatives are carried out through a partnership between committed Roswell Park Alliance volunteers and Foundation staff.

LivFree was created to provide kids and their families an experience to help give them a break from treatment and provide some family fun time. Whether it be a visit to a movie theater, a sporting event or anything in between, we help families have something to look forward to during their tough time.

Nevada Cancer Institute reduces the burden of cancer for Nevada, the nation and the world through innovative and collaborative research, education and patient care.

We support cancer patients and their families, in Vermont and Northern New York in a time of extraordinary need, by providing financial assistance, underwriting counseling services, and acting as a resource during diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Nate’s Wish was created to provide encouragement to children newly diagnosed with cancer through the gift of Nate’s Wish packs. The gifts included in Nate’s Wish packs have been selected to give comfort, words of encouragement, and needed distraction from battling cancer. Nate’s Wish is dedicated to offering a pack to all of the one hundred or more children diagnosed with cancer every year at monroe Carell Jr. Children’s hospital at Vanderbilt. Individuals may also make a request for a Nate’s wish pack on behalf of a child with cancer that will be fulfilled as available.
