One Common Unity (OCU) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that breaks cycles of violence and builds compassionate, healthy communities through the transformative power of music, arts, and peace education. Youth in Washington, D.C. are four times more likely to die by homicide than by the next closest cause. Students (ages 11-18) in our programs grapple with community violence, crime, poverty, drugs and high rates of incarceration, all of which reinforce cyclical trauma. Structural violence and racism, enforced through housing policies, access to educational opportunities, and an unequal distribution of resources, adds further hurdles to the lives of youth and their families. Building upon their incredible resilience, One Common Unity provides safe, supportive spaces where youth discover their authentic selves, connect with nature, and are equipped with the skills, tools, and support to disrupt cycles of violence and poverty.

The California Native Plant Society works to protect and restore California’s native plants and their habitats through science-based conservation, public education, stewardship and advocacy. CNPS supports research and rare-plant programs, runs statewide and chapter-level education and gardening initiatives, and mobilizes volunteers and members to inform land-use decisions and habitat protection.

ClearWater Conservancy protects and restores natural resources across central Pennsylvania by conserving land, stewarding water resources, and delivering environmental outreach and community programs. They use tools such as land protection (conservation easements and acquisitions), watershed restoration, stewardship, and public engagement to keep local landscapes and waterways healthy and accessible.

The main aims of the organization are: To equip women with knowledge and skills that would help them manage all their affairs on their own - In other words, help women attain empowerment; To capacitate women through leadership development, community organization, promotion of self-help groups: To organize skill development and income generating programs and allow participation of women in all stages of project implementation that included monitoring and evaluation; To strive for a gender just society where women have the knowledge, right, freedom and capacity to participate equally with men in the governance of the society.
