The mission of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, a nonprofit charter management organization, is to open and operate a network of small, high-performing 9-12 and 6-8 public schools in historically underachieving, low-income communities in California that will annually demonstrate student academic achievement growth and graduate students ready for success in college.  Our mission is accomplished through the implementation of Alliance’s five core values:  high expectations for all students, small personalized learning communities, increased instructional time, highly effective teachers and principals, and parents as partners.

JWOC runs projects in Southeast Asia that reduce poverty levels, increase educational and economic opportunities and empower recipients and supporters, inspiring ongoing social change.

Voice of Witness is a non-profit organization that uses oral history to illuminate contemporary human rights crises in the U.S. and around the world. Founded by author Dave Eggers and physician/human rights scholar Lola Vollen, Voice of Witness publishes a book series that depicts human rights injustices through the stories of the men and women who experience them. The Voice of Witness Education Program brings these stories, and the issues they reflect, into high schools and impacted communities through oral history-based curricula and holistic educator support.

Seeding Labs invests in exceptional scientists in developing countries who have limited resources, but limitless potential. We provide reduced-cost lab equipment and training and foster professional networks in order to enhance higher education, support vital research and create a more connected global scientific community.

The Laundromat Project brings art, artists, and arts programming into laundromats and other everyday spaces, thus amplifying the creativity that already exists within communities to build community networks, solve problems, and enhance our sense of ownership in the places where we live, work, and grow.

Girls Write Now (GWN) provides a safe and supportive environment where girls can expand their natural writing talents, develop independent creative voices, and build confidence in making healthy choices in school, career and life. GWN provides at-risk New York City high school girls with emerging writing talent an opportunity to be custom-matched with a professional woman writer who serves as her personal mentor and writing coach, meeting with her weekly for the duration of an entire school year, and for up to four years. GWN also enrolls each student in a vibrant writing community; all mentees and mentors gather monthly for genre-based group writing workshops conducted at our brand-new offices in midtown Manhattan. The year is punctuated by three annual readings, college and career prep seminars, field trips to cultural events, and endless opportunities for scholarships and publication.

Fresh Artists mission is to promote access for all children to the transformative self-expression of art making and philanthropy.  We do this by engaging children as full partners in philanthropy, by widely exhibiting children’s’ artwork in highly visible places and by providing art supplies and innovative art programs to children in severely under-resourced public schools.

The Urban Libraries Council (ULC), founded in 1971, is a membership association of leading public library systems in the U.S. and Canada. With the help of our members, ULC strategically advances the value that 21st century libraries provide communities in critical areas such as education, lifelong learning, workforce and economic development, public safety, health and wellness and environmental sustainability.  

Jazz St. Louis' mission is to lead our community in advancing the uniquely American art of jazz through live performance, education, and outreach.

The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools transforms schools to revolutionize school systems, empowering all students with a high-quality education. All young people, regardless of race, ethnicity or zip code, have the right to a high-quality K-12 education--one that builds the skills, knowledge and resilience needed to complete a four-year college and gain greater economic mobility. As an in-district school operator, we manage a network of 20 high-need schools (TK-12) that remain part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Through innovative programs and practices, we accelerate the achievements of low-income students of color, represented by our 13,500 network students. We seek equity for students across Los Angeles by modeling success and advocating LA Unified to adopt our solution.

LAEP’s mission is to work as a collaborative partner in high-poverty communities to foster great schools that support the personal and academic success of children and youth from birth through high school.Each year, we serve more than 1,400 educators and 60,000 students in high-poverty, multicultural communities across Los Angeles County.
