We act as citizen watchdogs for the public good, safeguarding our land, air and water. 2. Through research and education we develop and promote solutions to pollution and resource destruction.

Formed in 1964 by Rachel Browne, WCD grew by the mid-70's to encompass the School of Contemporary Dancers, an apprentice program, a subscription series and touring on a national and international level. Tedd Robinson established the first Canadian Modern Dance Festival in the 1980's. After falling on hard times in 1990, the company has rebounded now to a state of financial stability, a core of 5 dancers and national touring once again on the menu. In two years, WCD will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary!
