The Foundation seeks sustainable solutions to longterm problems of poverty, with special emphasis on the needs of rural communities in mountainous and other resourcepoor areas. Girls Garage is a nonprofit design and building program and dedicated workspace for girls and female-identifying youth ages 9-18. Girls Garage is the first design and building workshop for female youth in the United States. Through after-school and summer pathways, Girls Garage provides free and low-cost programs in carpentry, welding, architecture, engineering, and activist art to a diverse community of 200 girls per year. Integrating technical skills, college/career guidance, and community leadership, our programs equip girls the tools to build the world they want to see. In our workshop in Berkeley and under the guidance of our highly skilled all-female staff, we invite girls to bring their creative voice and put them to work on real-world building projects that live in our community.

The mission of the Foundation for Post Conflict Development (FPCD) is to fulfill the SDGs: eradicate extreme poverty; achieve universal primary education; promote gender equality and empower women; reduce child mortality; improve maternal health; combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other infectious diseases; ensure environmental sustainability; develop a global partnerships.  Through direct education, action and development or the promotion of a global partnership for such efforts, the FPCD is dedicated to assist post conflict countries with projects necessary for their reconstruction, among them the demobilization /disbanding of child soldiers, reintegration of war veterans, the creation of meaningful employment and cultural preservation.

By taking a holistic approach, SBP shrinks the time between disaster and recovery in three intersecting ways—advocate, build and prepare.SBP advocates for policy and system change and advises state and local leaders to run disaster recovery programs more efficiently and effectively to create transformational change and scale impact.SBP builds resilient communities efficiently and effectively.SBP prepares individuals, communities and organizations to mitigate risk and speed recovery.

SJICC USA raises funds in North America in support of charities in India with an excellent record of governance, transparency and impact. These charities provide much needed care for sick needy children. SJICC USA can provide a tax-effective way for residents and taxpayers of the USA to make donations to fund grant applications submitted by charities in India that meet our goals. Our current focus is to fund St. Jude India ChildCare Centers in Mumbai, but we have the flexibility to support allied charities in India that have adopted a model similar to that of St. Judes (www.stjudechild.org).

Daily Bread Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization that is fighting to end hunger in our communities. Last year, there were over a million client visits to food banks across the GTA. Daily Bread serves the majority of these people through neighbourhood food banks and meal programs in its 171 member agencies.

Sewa International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, nonprofit service organization registered under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3). Founded in 2003, Sewa International is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and has currently spread to 20 countries. Sewa serves humanity irrespective of race, color, religion, gender or nationality. We specialize in disaster relief and rehabilitation. Our development programs focus on family services; child, tribal and refugee welfare; women empowerment; health; and education. In addition to the US, we conduct development projects in Columbia, Guyana, India, Kenya, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Sewa’s volunteers are energetic, inspiring, selfless, and committed.
