Discovery House is a second stage shelter established to address the social issue of family violence in Calgary. We provide long-term shelter, intervention, education and professional counselling for families who are victims of abuse. Our goal is that families have an increased capacity and support for living a safe and harmonious life in the community. We achieve this by restoring self-esteem, teaching strategies for personal safety, and developing problem-solving skills with our residential and outreach clients.

RI provides emergency relief, rehabilitation and development assistance to victims of natural disasters and civil conflicts worldwide. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals designed specially for starving children, and FMSC ships the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.

Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of hungry children and families living in poverty primarily in 15 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, water, medicine, educational materials, homes, support for vulnerable children, care for the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance.
