In the wake of September 11, 2001, a group of Los Angeles media instructors and professionals gathered to discuss the tragedy. They were determined to “go global” and make a major, long-term impact on the world community.The Teen International Media Exchange (TIME) was born, and found a home at the Media Academy at Grover Cleveland High School in Reseda, CA, where two of the founders teach.Today, TIME is a non-profit organization with an explicit mission: to empower the energy of teenagers and the dynamic power of the media to create a peaceful, cooperative world community.
WCTE Upper Cumberland PBS enriches the community with education, outreach, and quality programming. Our mission is to give a voice to the people and places of the region we serve. We strive to engage our citizens through distinctive programs and services that inform, educate, entertain, and inspire. Since 1978, WCTE has been a leader in celebrating the stories and people of this region. We continue this tradition today through multiple platforms of engagement that extend far beyond the broadcast realm.
To serve as the global repository of historical documents, artifacts, film, and books related to the development of the PR profession. Just as important, we teach students the role of PR in shaping culture, politics and business throughout history. As the world's only such archive for PR materials, we host hundreds of students and scholars from around the world each year. We also produce free events for students showcasing the role of women and minorities in our history-- individuals left out of the textbooks.

QWOCMAP uses film to shatter stereotypes and bias, reveal the lived truths of inequality, and build understanding and community around art and social justice. QWOCMAP creates, exhibits, and distributes high-impact films that authentically reflect the lives of queer women of color (cisgender & transgender), and gender nonbinary and transgender people of color (of any orientation), and address the vital, intersecting social justice issues that concern multiple communities.

The Independent Media Institute (IMI) is a nonprofit organization that educates the public through a diverse array of independent media projects and programs. We work with journalists and media outlets to shine a spotlight on stories that are vital to the public interest, using multiple media formats and distribution channels.
Community TV Network (CTVN) teaches cutting-edge digital video production to low-income youth throughout Chicago. We promote positive youth and community development with the overall goal of raising the educational success and economic viability of the neighborhoods where our youth participants live and work. Since1974, we have used video as an art form and educational tool to improve the opportunities available to low-income African-American and Latino youth in Chicago. In 1980, we incorporated as an independent, tax exempt nonprofit and have emerged as an innovative leader in youth media. Our media literacy curriculum empowers youth with a platform of self representation while cultivating academic and job skills, self-esteem, community awareness and intellectual curiosity. Over 9,500 of Chicago's at-risk youth have participated in CTVN's media literacy programs, creating insightful videos for their peers and leaving behind a rich legacy. The nearly 500 videos that make up our media library form a vibrant digital catalogue composed of authentic youth voices. The library serves as a valuable teaching resource and offers rarely-seen histories of Chicago communities. Every year, our youth producers add to this unique collection, producing dozens of videos that are broadcast in Chicago and New York City, streamed online, and screened in film festivals throughout the U.S.
