Though American art is the collection’s emphasis, the art of other nations and cultures is, when appropriate, acquired and exhibited. The Corcoran is committed to making the historic art in its collections and the emerging art of our time accessible and understandable to the broadest possible audience through innovative exhibitions and educational programming, systematic research and rigorous scholarship. Its many activities emphasize the combined resources of its museum and college, and are directed toward diverse communities with widely differing educational and socio-economic backgrounds. To realize its’ critically important and intentionally bold vision, KHAFRE inc. will build monuments and memorials, offer programs and workshops around education, health, and history, provide resources to the formal and informal educators in the delta, engage in community outreach and connection, and operate as a repository and distributor of information on the history, beauty, and talent of and within the Mississippi delta, all for the overarching purpose of improving the quality of life of her sons and daughters.

The mission of the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art (SDAAMFA) is to present and preserve the art of African Americans globally and to broaden the knowledge and understanding of the visual arts in Southeastern California generally and San Diego specifically by collecting, preserving and displaying works of art by and about African Americans; by creating and hosting quality traveling exhibitions; by collecting and preserving fine art and by developing and helping to foster an appreciation of art through meaningful public programs, symposia, and other educational programs.

PAMM is a modern and contemporary art museum located in downtown Miami, Florida, and is dedicated to collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting international art of the 20th and 21st centuries with an emphasis on the cultures of the Atlantic Rim—from which the vast majority of Miami residents hail. To complement its mission and to provide a broader historical context, PAMM presents works of art outside of this time frame when appropriate. PAMM is dedicated to education and scholarship. To this end, the Museum takes a variety of approaches. PAMM engages the community in lively exchange, fosters fresh ideas, and conveys the excitement of the creative process. The Museum is a catalyst for the visual arts nationally and internationally, and is known as a leader in museum education.

Our mission is to engage, educate and excite the community by collecting, exhibiting, and preserving works of art for the enjoyment of all.

In an agreement with the Texas Historical Commission, the Admiral Nimitz Foundation manages and provides financial support to the National Museum of the Pacific War in order to: ·        -preserve and exhibit the material history of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz; ·        -preserve and exhibit the material history of the war in the Pacific-Asiatic Theater during World War II; ·       - offer and participate in programs that honor all veterans past and present, and in programs that provide strategic insights into national security issues affecting our country; ·       - support education concerning the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II; and, ·        -provide the general public, researchers, students, teachers and historians with a readily accessible platform for the exploration of the War in the Pacific-Asiatic during World War II.
