Our Mission: Backpacks of Love, Inc. The mission of Backpacks of Love is to eliminate hunger in school-age boys and girls in Central Virginia by providing food for their weekends. Many of the schools we serve are in rural areas where access to social services is limited. The impact of our food bags goes beyond nourishment. Recipients have lower absentee rates on Fridays, improved focus on their studies, and increased energy for sports and extracurricular activities. These students, who share classrooms with their more advantaged peers, face significant challenges when hunger affects their education. Every day a student falls behind due to hunger can limit their future opportunities. Your support can make a profound difference.
