Stichting Greenpeace MENA

GP MENA (Middle East and North Africa) is the latest organisation in the Greenpeace network that officially started in 2018. In the past three years the office has grown with 23 FTE staff distributed across the region. Individually and collectively, what we believe and how we see the world is reflected in our actions and behaviours and at Greenpeace MENA, we believe that a better world is not only possible, but that it's already beginning. We envision a world where a billion acts of courage can spark a better tomorrow for all, this optimism is what sets us apart in the region where many seem to have thrown up their hands in despair. Greenpeace MENA aspires to help build, and be part of a vibrant environmental justice movement that puts the climate emergency and a just energy transition high on the social and political agendas. We rely on traditional and digital campaigning to reach out and engage with more than 400 million Arabs at home and around the world - bridging the gaps between borders. As a relatively small team covering a wide geographical area, our success depends on making 'magic' happen, by connecting the dots, empowering local initiatives and telling powerful and inspiring stories. The monsters we face are apathy and fear, and the gifts we offer are knowledge, action and hope.

FoodBlessed

MISSION, VISION VALUES Co-founded in 2012, FoodBlessed is a pioneering hunger-relief AND food-rescue youth-led non-profit organization that seeks to provide an effective and efficient solution to hunger, while addressing the serious and growing problem of food waste in Lebanon, one meal at a time. FoodBlessed is the only community-based and volunteer-driven organization in Lebanon and the region that works with the civil society and strategic partners to reduce the number of people going hungry in Lebanon, while making sure no good food goes to waste. FoodBlessed is a non-religious and non-partisan humanitarian organization. MISSION - To unite and nourish communities across Lebanon through the power of food, social responsibility and volunteerism. VISION - Create a community which works towards making sure that the food insecure, hungry and homeless don't end up sleeping on an empty belly or feeling ostracized; that good food, which is usually wasted, doesn't end up in bins but rather in bellies; and that community members are given the opportunity to better serve their communities. VALUES - FoodBlessed firmly believes that food is a vital tool to supporting local communities, bringing people together and connecting us as human beings. That is why in addition to feeding empty bellies, they also use food to build communities, tackle loneliness and provide spaces for people from different backgrounds and walks of life to meet, share, and to make friends. That's why: -We put people at the heart of what we do. -We are inclusive and welcome everyone. By using inclusive language, we demonstrate respect in both our workplaces and in developing and delivering policies, programs, and services for people in need across Lebanon regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity, because at the end of the day we're all human beings and we deserve to be acknowledged for being just, above anything else. -We stimulate discussions; we create connections; we build communities. -We establish long-term and rewarding relationships with our guests, our volunteers, our partners, our suppliers, our supporters and our volunteers. -We make use of resources that already exist. -We work on rebuilding the dignity of those in need and restoring their confidence in their community. Instead of lining up for food, like in most soup kitchens, our guests are invited to sit down at our table where they are served their food by our Hunger Heroes. -We nurture our planet; we collect surplus food; we use spare local kitchens; we support communities to access available resources. We're innovative with what already exists and always look to tread gently on our planet. -We have adopted a zero-tolerance approach against any type of discrimination or harassment that is based not just on gender identity and sexual orientation but also on age, religion, colour, ethnicity, nationality etcetera. At FoodBlessed, when we talk about gender, sex characteristics or sexuality, we're not talking about preferences or choices. We're just talking about how people are. -We do it with love. Whether it is a meal cooked and served or a food parcel packed and delivered, it is always done with love. FoodBlessed's number one rule is "what is done with love is done well, so do it with love". Indeed, FoodBlessed believes in the power of communal eating and community solidarity in rebuilding the dignity of those in need and restoring their confidence in their community.

Club of Rome

The organisation reflects its members' shared concern for the future of humanity and the planet. The association sees its task as acting as an independent, global catalyst for change. The objectives of the Association are therefore: to identify the key issues that are critical to the future of humanity; to evaluate alternative scenarios for the future and assess risks, choices and opportunities through integrated and forward-looking analyses; to develop and propose practical solutions to the identified challenges; to communicate new insights and knowledge from these analyses to decision-makers in the public and private sectors, as well as to the wider public; to stimulate public debate and effective action to improve the prospects for the future of humanity and the planet. The Association's activities are guided by the following three complementary principles: 1. the need to adopt a global, systems-oriented perspective in analysing the problems facing the modern world, recognising that the increasing interdependence of nations and the globalisation of previously local problems create challenges that are beyond the capacity of individual countries. 2. the need for a comprehensive, holistic approach in order to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity and interconnectedness of both current problems and practical solutions, in political, social, economic, technological, environmental, psychological and cultural terms, which the association refers to as the 'world problematique'. 3. the need to emphasise transdisciplinary and long-term perspectives, which are all too often neglected by governments and other decision-makers, and to focus on those decisions, strategies and measures that will determine the fate of present and future generations. The aim is to arouse public interest and provide responsible decision-makers with a solid basis for formulating and implementing future-oriented measures. The association does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not seek to make a profit.

Stichting People For People

The People for People brand aims to build a collective of decisive people who have founded or work at companies that care. From ESG managers to CEOs, these individuals are solution-minded, capable of making fast decisions, and focused on implementing impact at scale. When a large-scale crisis occurs and people are forced to flee their homes, they feel the responsibility to act. They are not experts in medical aid, construction or military operations - but they can tap into their businesses to deliver much-needed supplies, services and infrastructure quickly. When people are suddenly forced from home due to large-scale disasters, we call on our collective responsibility to help as many people as possible as quickly as possible - regardless of their nationality or background. We focus our eorts on the people that might otherwise be missed or fall behind. We pay special attention to young people and their families, directly asking them about their needs. United in our eorts, we aim to bring back humanity in crisis response.
