School in a Bag give bright red rucksacks full of educational resources, eating, drinking and hygiene equipment to poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster affected children worldwide to enable them to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves, eat, drink, wash and above all, learn.

Our aim is to give 'Hope and Focus' for the youth and families of South Wight. We are passionate about getting young people together, giving them opportunities to grow, work, play and fulfil their potential.

The Friends aim to forge links between home, school and community. We raise money to support the school and enhance the children’s educational experience. Money raised helps provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school's main income – often 'fun things' that make learning more interesting and exciting.Over the past year the Friends spent funds on enhancing the outdoor area (including helping to fund the outdoor classroom), waterproofs for forest school, coach transport for Young Voices and more. We could not have done this without your continued support for which we are very grateful.

Action Against Cancer (AAC) funds the development of cures for cancer. The cutting edge programmes that we support aim to improve the survival prospects and quality of life for millions of cancer sufferers. AAC is different because we lack bureaucracy, making us able to support innovative new scientific research. We provide crucial seed funding to projects that could not secure support from other sources. Larger funders require existing data before providing finance for experiments, and this does not allow for brand new ideas - AAC fills this gap. Our fast-moving approach has been shown to work, with the discovery of a cancer-causing gene, and the identification of important molecules that suppress tumours and decrease the spread of certain cancer cells and much more. We believe that cutting edge research that takes risks and pushes boundaries is the only way cancer will be beaten.Funds given to Action Against Cancer are spent on scientists’ salaries and the essential equipment that they need to make life saving breakthroughs, in laboratories at Imperial College London, the University of Sussex and Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge. We are low on bureaucracy and have a very small staff team working from home, so no office to pay for. This means low overheads. AZAR has built and resourced a 21 classroom primary school and now supports another school in the Dodoma region, Tanzania and four further schools in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Support provided can be additional classrooms/staff offices/boreholes/drinking water/sanitation facilities/books/wifi

We operate Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections in Bolnore Village. Meeting every Tuesday at the Woodside and aiming to do as many other activities and events as time and funds allow!
