Okanagan College Foundation stimulates support from individuals, alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to enable students to participate in learning at Okanagan College’s four regional campuses (Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Salmon Arm) in British Columbia. The Okanagan College Foundation raises and manages private resources for the development and expansion of educational programs, services, capital projects and student financial aid through scholarships, bursaries and grants. Okanagan College has embarked on a $200 million expansion and launched The Okanagan College Campaign to raise $12.5 million over the next 5 years. The Foundation is dedicated to assisting the College in building endowments, supporting the long-term academic and strategic priorities of the College, fostering public knowledge and awareness of Okanagan College and the economic and social benefits that Okanagan College provides to the people of BC. Your support is highly valued and appreciated.
Children Arise seeks to be a catalyst for change in desperate communities. We hold the long-term vision of seeing whole nations transformed by inspiring and enabling the children to rise out of hopelessness, pursue their dreams, and ultimately lead their nations forward into true prosperity. Children Arise seeks to accomplish this through qualified midwifery care, the alleviation of poverty, the provision of healthcare, education, and vocational training, and the implementation of sustainable micro-industry to help communities build capacity and help families achieve self-sufficiency. Children Arise believes that the only way to reach our goals is through inspiring and enabling individuals and organizations in the developed world to partner with people in need in the developing world. Together, we can achieve sustainable development within healthy communities.
Project HOPE seeks, through African partnerships, to develop effective long-term solutions that strengthen a communities ability to care for widows and orphans. We value sustainability and accountability and endeavour to care for the whole person.
Since our first build in 2004, MennoHomes has contributed 105 rental housing units to address the need for affordable housing in Waterloo Region. These have been a mix of single unit apartments for seniors or family duplexes in Kitchener, to multi-bedroom housing for large rural families in Wellesley and Elmira. In 2013 we embarked on our newest project with the purchase of land in Elmira that will be the site for a multi-unit mixed size apartment building for singles, seniors, and families. Your donation to MennoHomes through CanadaHelps will directly support this project. For more information, contact Dan Driedger at ddriedger@mennohomes.com Thank You!
Since opening in May 2002, Carpenter Hospice has served more than 1,800 residents who have ranged in age from 21 to 103 years. We support people from our community with all types of terminal illness such as cancer and ALS. Our services also extend beyond residential care to our Wellness Program and Bereavement Support Program. The opportunity to come and live at Carpenter Hospice is not based on financial ability and there is no user fee. The hospice is dependent on the generosity of the community and fundraising for the majority of its operation revenue. Carpenter Hospice raises $1.3 million each year; which provides us with the capacity to offer all of our services and programs at no cost to the end users. Every dollar makes a difference in allowing the hospice to provide the highest quality of care for our residents and program participants. Sometimes there are circumstances (physical, emotional, economic and timing) in which a woman is challenged by her pregnancy. Elisha House exists to help women explore their situation, to provide them with accurate information, practical guidance, encouragement and emotional support during and after the pregnancy. We recognize that the solutions to an unplanned pregnancy are not simple. We help each woman and anyone who may be directly involved with her pregnancy explore her situation and give counsel that will help her make a 'life affirming' decision. We are a Christian, non-profit, charitable organisation committed to providing hands-on assistance for the physical, social, mental and spiritual needs of those in crisis within our community. This loving care is declared and demonstrated by offering programmes and one-on-one support. Our goal is to provide accurate information and support to women, men and families who are challenged by a crisis pregnancy and related issues.

From the early 1830s to 1998, thousands of First Nation, Inuit and Métis children were forced to attend residential schools in an attempt to assimilate them into the dominant culture. Those children suffered abuses of the mind, body, emotions, and spirit that can be almost unimaginable. Over 150,000 children, some as young as four years old, attended the government-funded and church-run residential schools. It is estimated that there are 80,000 residential school Survivors alive today. We develop innovative, unique, and effective educational programming on residential schools and the long-term effects they have on Survivors, their families, and their communities. Accessed by hundreds of thousands of Canadians, these resources include websites, travelling exhibitions, secondary school curriculum, and an oral history collection of Survivor testimony.

Since 1999, the Bozzini Quartet has been an original voice in new, contemporary, experimental and classical music. Their skew is radically contemporary, propelling the hyper-creative Montreal scene, and beyond. Not content to parlay received wisdom, the quartet cultivates an ethos of risk-taking, and boldly venture off the beaten track. With rigorous qualitative criteria, they have nurtured a vastly diverse repertoire, unbiased by the currents of fashion. This has led to over a hundred and thirty commissioned pieces, as well as close to two hundred other premiered works. A Bozzini Quartet concert is an art happening, with meticulous and sensuous attention to detail. To ensure continual development in their art, the quartet’s annual musical laboratory, the Composer’s Kitchen, works to mentor and support new generations of composers. The Bozzini Quartet records under its own label, the collection qb, and can be heard regularly on European and Canadian radio.
