The Tim Horton Children's Foundation was established in 1974 by Ron Joyce, Co-Founder of the Tim Hortons chain, to honour Tim Horton's love for children and his desire to help those less fortunate. The Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to providing a fun-filled camp environment for children from economically disadvantaged homes. Year-round, local children are selected from each of the communities in which a Tim Hortons store operates, giving thousands of children the opportunity to attend one of our camps. This year the Foundation will serve over 14,000 children from economically disadvantaged homes. Together we are truly making a difference.

Canadian Women's Foundation is the only national public foundation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls. The Foundation raises funds to support programs that focus on three areas fundamental to the wellbeing of women and girls: ending violence, establishing economically independent women, and building resilient girls.

Our programs help women transition towards self-sufficiency by addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home and community. Programs include: the Suiting Program which outfits women in professional attire for job interviews and employment; the Dress Rehearsal program where clients go through a mock interview and feedback session and can get assistance with resume/cover letter writing; and the Professional Women’s Group (PWG) which offers women ongoing support as they successfully transition into the workforce.

The CPFQ Child Sponsorship Program is designed to build bridges between the Canadian community and Palestinian children living under occupation or in refugee camps. Children enrolled in our program live under conditions of extreme poverty and unemployment. Many of them live in densely populated refugee camps. A suitable infrastructure is absent, seriously threatening the physical and mental health of residents. Many children suffer from serious health problems and disabilities. Due to financial hardship, many have to leave school at a very young age to help support their families. The severe restrictions on employment and movement make the future of these children very bleak. In addition to providing much needed financial assistance, the program helps maintain stable and rewarding relationships between each child and their sponsor. This simple message of hope can offset some of the effects of the chaotic and insecure conditions in which they live.

CNIB is a nationwide, community-based, registered charity committed to research, public education and vision health for all Canadians. CNIB provides the services and support necessary for people to enjoy a good quality of life while living with vision loss.

The Calgary Humane Society is known throughout the country for the outstanding and innovative programs and services we have provided to the animals and the community for over 80 years. At the Calgary Humane Society we help close to 10,000 animals each year. These animals have become homeless, unwanted, abused or neglected, and depend on the Calgary Humane Society for shelter, veterinary care, placement and protection.

Bissell Centre takes a holistic approach to addressing the root issues surrounding poverty and homelessness. Our programs and services are hinged on the principle that building respectful, trusting relationships helps deal with the core issues of a person in poverty. Bissell engages with our community members to learn who they are, what their unique barriers are and provide the resources necessary to emerge out of poverty and reconnect with their hope. Programs work with one another to address the many daily and long-term issues such as hunger, education, employment, safety, housing and mental health. At Wellspring, people living with cancer tell us what helps them the most - having access to information, receiving support, and learning new ways to cope. They also tell us the cancer journey has two roads: medical and emotional. Individuals and their loved ones often have difficulty finding the emotional, psychological and practical support they so urgently require. The support provided by Wellspring becomes a vital complement to medical treatment. In Calgary, only Wellspring devotes itself exclusively to the unique non-medical needs that cancer presents. People with cancer, their families and friends can exchange information, develop a support system and create a sense of hope, in a warm, caring and welcoming atmosphere. Wellspring charges no fees. Its programs are available free to anyone living with any type of cancer at any stage. Programs include individual and group classes, coping skills, expressive therapies, energy work, educational workshops and a discussion series.
