The Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida is an accredited and award-winning not-for-profit association founded in 1991 by parents of children with Down syndrome. It has grown from a few families to over 1,500 individuals with DS and their families. We serve families in an area of over 10 counties with help from more than 17,000 friends, professionals, volunteers and other supporters. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors. More than 50% of our board members have family members with Down syndrome. DSACF is the leading voice for all individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We offer hope, encouragement and acceptance through advocacy, education and awareness as we guide individuals with down syndrome through life’s transitions. Together, we create a Central Florida community composed of and dedicated to individuals with Down syndrome – and those who love them – so that each may realize their potential.

Helping young girls and boys become responsible and contributing members of society by providing career guidance, religious education and teaching them academic skills, such as communication skills, presentation skills, problem solving skills, and practical life skills. Helping women of all ages improve their social status and wellbeing through education, career guidance, mentoring, family counseling, and teaching them various life skills, such as parenting skills, cooking, knitting, and healthy lifestyle. Promoting a strong moral character that enhances awareness of our neighborhoods and broader communities through participation in community service projects, field trips, and volunteering at places such as nursing homes and homeless shelters. Hope for Families Worldwide is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Camp Hope provides free summer camp and mentorship to children from hard places around the world. Currently we serve children who are experiencing crisis in Virginia, Costa Rica, and Latvia. Our goal is that every camper knows they are valuable, they were created for a good purpose, they are not defined by their circumstances, and that God loves them like crazy!
