The NCBA Board's mission is to create a positive and rewarding basketball learning experience for both boys and girls (grades 5-8) from New Canaan. Our first and most important priority is the kids - all else is secondary. Our board, which is made up of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the game of basketball and youth sports, work tirelessly to ensure that the NCBA provides a high quality basketball experience and life experience for the New Canaan children who play on our teams. The NCBA runs the town of New Canaan travel program consisting of 8-16 boys and girls teams, and believes that our basketball program should provide the most diverse learning experience (both curriculum and coaching) for New Canaan children, regardless of whether or not our players go to school at Saxe, New Canaan Country School, Saint Luke’s or other private schools.
Our mission is to transform lives through year-round recreational and social programs for children and their families challenged with pediatric cancer or another life threatening illness. All programs are provided at no cost to the child and their family.
Our organizations mission is to provide rehabilitative experiences through golf and family-inclusive opportunities for wounded veterans from EVERY conflict in an effort to improve the quality of life for these American heroes. Utilizing these rehabilitative experiences through golf and family-inclusive opportunities helps improve the mental and physical condition (balance, coordination, muscle memory and stamina) of each and every Wounded Hero returning from combat. Our goal is to establish and maintain a Youth Shooting Program in California that promotes firearm safety awareness and develops a competitive shotgun shooting program for our kids at local, state, regional, and national levels. Gun safety, responsible handling of firearms, learning proper shooting techniques, and improving your shooting are some of the objectives of our programs. Enjoying a great sport and sharing it with your family and friends are just a few of the benefits of joining our youth program. Shooting on a team with other shooters your age will build your competitive spirit, enhance your self confidence and let you participate in a life long FUN learning experience. Our instructors are NSCA (National Sporting Clays Association) certified instructors. Our programs are supported by the National Rifle Association, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Amateur Trap Shooters Association, the National Skeet Shooters Association and the National Sporting Clays Association. Freedom Golf Association (FGA) is dedicated to bringing joy and a sense of freedom to the special needs community through their inclusion in the game of golf. We provide free adaptive golf clinics to individuals with physical, developmental, and sensory disabilities and wounded veterans.
DC Stoddert Soccer is a non-profit organization offering varying levels of soccer education and competition. Our mission is to provide a positive, fun, and developmentally appropriate soccer experience and to promote a love of soccer for youth in the Washington, DC area. DC Stoddert Soccer promotes sportsmanship, fair play, community building, and volunteerism among its members.
