Chabad of Pasadena is dedicated to serving the Jewish community throughout Pasadena, with Ahavat Yisrael – an unconditional love and concern for every Jew, regardless of background and affiliation. Its multiple programs provide the education to promote Jewish knowledge and awareness and the means to practice and experience our Jewish heritage.
At the foundation of his teachings is the encompassing mitzvah: “To love every Jew as one loves himself” "Fueled by this love, Chabad offers opportunities for acts of kindness and mitzvot. It's our belief that every individual Jew has an indispensable contribution to make to the totality of the Jewish people. "
The Hurwitz Family Fund was created to assist Rabbi Yitzchok Hurwitz and his family as they struggle with the devastating effects of ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease) one of the cruelest diseases known to mankind. Every day brings new challenges to Yitzy as he, his wife and seven children battle the effects of this dreadful disease. We can only imagine how much pain and suffering the Hurwitz family is going through. Tragically, Yitzy can no longer speak nor does he have any ambulatory abilities. Yet, his enthusiasm for life is so very evident simply by being in his presence. Without even saying a word he is able to inspire all who come his way via his faith and perseverance in the face of one of the most horrible diseases known to mankind. We have committed ourselves to paying for all of Rabbi Hurwitz’s medical costs such as daily care and exploratory treatments. We are also covering the Hurwitz family’s financial burdens during this trying time in order to allow them to spend this critical time together without other worries. Without your vital assistance, all of this would simply be impossible! We are very grateful that you partnered with us for this special mitzvah. On behalf of Yitzy and his family, thank you so very much. On behalf of Yitzy and his family, thank you so very much.

Chabad is founded on the principle that, while Jews embrace many levels of observance in their personal lives, there should be a place for all Jews - no labels, no affiliations - to develop a sense of community, to enhance the experience of being Jewish, to learn and to have fun. Chabad is just that place. By focusing on the individual's relationship to Judaism, chabad appeals to all segments of the Jewish community. By offering a wide range of activities for adults, children and the whole family, Chabad follows many paths to enrich Jewish life in our community. And by bringing many different ideas together, Chabad can help you find The Jewish Community in your heart.
