Ancient Promise

Our Focus is Discipleship — Our goal is to equip Believers to discover God’s truth and walk in it. We teach, train, and develop discipleship curriculum with an emphasis on understanding the meaning of His Word. Our goal is to provide pastoral leadership and collegiate teachers with tools needed to accurately interpret the Word of Truth, so they can then train others to do the same in environments where formal education is not adequate or possible, bearing fruit for generations to come.

Keshet

Keshet is an organization that provides educational and recreational programs for children with special needs. We at Keshet deeply believe that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in the mainstream of their community. That's why the children of Keshet integrate into schools and camps along-side their typically developing peers. By being able to assist these children to become a part of their community, Keshet fulfill its most important mission - to bring the rich flavor of life's experiences to all children. Three philosophies intertwine all of Keshet's programs: All children are accepted regardless of the nature of their disability, Keshet is a parent-driven organization. Through this empowerment, Keshet parents have been able to turn the challenges incumbent in having a child with disabilities into productive and healing action, and the children are integrated with the assistance of staff into the school and camp programs of their local neighborhood. Keshet's personnel costs and therapy services make up 75% of Keshet annual expenses. Only one third of our 2.8 million dollar budget comes from parent paid fees and tuition. The remainder comes from Keshet's annual fund raising campaigns, private donations, and foundation grants. The Keshet Rainbow Banquet, attracting over 1,800 prominent Chicagoans, last year raised over 1.1 million dollars for the children of Keshet.

Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Chicago Chapter

Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association Chicago Chapter (DDMBA-Chicago) was established in 1993. We are a local affiliate chapter of Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) Taiwan, and are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization in the United States. At DDMBA-Chicago, we teach and promote the understanding and practice of Chan Buddhism, cultivating wisdom and compassion, and the freedom and ease of body and mind through Chan practice. The vision behind our efforts is that of “Uplifting the Character of Humanity and Building a Pure Land on Earth” as promoted by our late teacher and Founder of DDM, Chan Master Sheng Yen. Our localized mission is to create a vibrant and sustainable community by encouraging spiritual growth and promoting happiness. To achieve the vision and mission, we offer various practice and caring programs, including group meditation programs, chanting, book study, social activities, and more. Through fluent English and Chinese language skills, we help to bring benefits to both English- and Chinese-speakers, in their individual lives and throughout the society, through an understanding of Buddhism as a living philosophy.
