By linking local individuals and communities with new ideas and technology, Winrock is increasing long-term productivity, equity and responsible resource management to benefit the poor and disadvantaged of the world.

The Chicago Urban League (CUL) works to achieve equity for Black families and communities through social and economic empowerment. CUL achieves its mission through programming in entrepreneurship, housing and financial empowerment, youth services, workforce development, leadership development, and research and policy. CUL has been a leader and convener in Chicago's black community for over 106 years with a staff of 50+ individuals.

The HBCU Foundation is a nationally-focused, federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose aim is to provide scholarship aid to deserving students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We partner with 102 public and private member-schools to: - Increase access, retention and graduation rates of all students - Identify and adequately equip students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities who have displayed significant leadership potential - Create a pipeline for hiring organizations of top-tier, well-rounded, HBCU students and alumni - Foster a new generation of entrepreneurially and globally-minded, HBCU student and alumni leaders

Lambs Farm serves a mission of helping people with developmental disabilities lead productive, happy lives and connecting with the human spirit in us all. Lambs Farm is a non-profit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities and offering vocational, residential, social, and recreational services based on each person's interests, strengths and needs, both on-campus and in the community. Programs are continually enhanced to meet the changing needs and desires of the individuals served.

Safer Foundation, a nonprofit social impact organization based in Chicago, Illinois, was founded in 1972. Its mission is to reduce recidivism by supporting, though a full spectrum of services, and advocacy, the efforts of people with arrest and conviction records to become employed, law-abiding members of the community. If people with records are provided with direct service support focused on job preparedness and placement, and are also linked to other critical supportive services their reentry challenges will be addressed and, as a result, their likelihood to recidivate (return to prison) will be reduced. Safer's evidence-based programs are geared toward addressing barriers that impede employment and providing services that support clients' abilities to successfully acclimate into society.

REUse Works DBA Ragfinery's mission is to promote and support worker training, job creation, and business development opportunities for low-income residents by using waste and discarded materials.

Ada’s Café is a Palo Alto-based 501(c) 3, non-profit that provides training and jobs for adults with developmental disabilities living primarily in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The social mission of Ada’s is three-fold: (i) to hire and train adults with disabilities to work in its café and catering businesses, (ii) to engage teens and young adults through work and involvement with Ada’s disabled employees and (ii) to foster a better understanding among the general population about the contributions that can be made by developmentally disabled adults. The benefits of empowering and employing adults with developmental disabilities are clear, innumerable and easy to document with social science statistics. The population of adults with intellectual disabilities is one of the most marginalized in our society, is often ignored and suffers from an unemployment rate estimated at nearly 80%. The self-esteem and health benefits that come from having a job, the satisfaction that comes from making an important contribution to a sustainable enterprise and reducing the burden on an already overwhelmed and under-funded social welfare support system are just a few of the many benefits created by Ada’s. In addition, Ada’s believes that youth engaged in meaningful work will feel more connected to and invested in their communities. In all of its ventures, Ada’s Café brings diverse groups of people together in a warm and welcoming environment with a mission of creating good food and community.
