GENCAD's vision is to be an exemplary organisation that contributes to the socio-economic development of pastoralist communities in the Horn of Africa. Pastoralist communities experience extreme poverty, lack of education, political and economic marginalization in the Horn of Africa. GENCAD's mission is to increase their access to educational opportunities, health services, and to empower these communities to actively participate in and take ownership of their socio-economic development.

THET has been putting health workers at the heart of our work since 1989, improving patient care by forging partnerships with healthcare experts to deliver targeted training programmes in low and middle income countries. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to healthcare, we will achieve this by working in partnership to support health workers across the world. In the past six years alone, THET has reached over 50,000 health workers across thirty-four countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Whisper provides health, education and loving care to Ugandan children and their communities.

The bulk of our work treats patients with cleft lip and palate. Our cleft programme aims to treat around 1,000 people in 2018, and is carried out entirely by local Ethiopian staff. We also run a Complex Surgical Mission once a year, in which we treat people with more complex facial conditions such as burns; tumours; noma (a type of facial gangrene); and animal attack injuries. These missions are carried out by volunteer British, Irish and French medics, most of whom work for the NHS and give up their holiday time to help us.

We explore and celebrate the richness of diversity through creative experiences. We work with people of all abilities and backgrounds to encourage a change in perceptions and attitudes around disability at both a personal, and public level. To do this we use the arts as a powerful tool for transformation.

JAAGO Foundation aims for the betterment of the nation through catering the educational needs of children from socially and economically disadvantaged background and empowering the youth along with inspiring volunteerism in Bangladesh. JAAGO focuses on creating an equitable world for everyone regardless of gender, class, ethnicity, location, religious and sexual orientation by empowering the most marginalized.

Apps for Good works to power a generation to change their world with technology. We want to transform education to help young people become tech creators and digital makers, so that they can thrive in a tech driven future. We achieve this by working with teachers to create a new kind of learning - one that's rooted in real world learning and driven by the students themselves. While doing the Apps for Good course students move through the full product development cycle of an app, from concept to coding to launch and in doing so learn how to solve real world problems with technology.

The Latin Programme - Via Facilis improves English literacy in underachieving State Primary Schools through the study of Latin and English grammar. The Latin Programme is conscious that "one in six people in the UK struggle with literacy. This means their literacy is below the level expected of an eleven-year-old" (Department for Education, 2003). This underachievement in literacy is particularly evident in the case of disadvantaged children, "In 2007, only 35% of five year olds in the most deprived areas reached the expected level of attainment, compared to 51% of pupils in other areas [] This gap grows throughout school years so that by GCSE levels only 21% of disadvantaged pupils achieved 5+ A*-C GCSEs including English and Maths in 2007 compared to 49% of nonFSM pupils" (Department for Children, Schools and Families, 2009). As a result The Latin Programme is committed to finding innovative ways to help State Primary School children achieve a better performance in literacy and improve their life prospects. We concentrate on the link between literacy levels and future prospects because individuals with good literacy skills "are more likely to have higher self-esteem, better health, better jobs and higher wages than those with poor literacy skills." Ecologia Youth Trust promotes the welfare of young people in Russia, Georgia, Burma, Kenya, Uganda and Thailand through Youth, Ecology and Education and in particular, therapeutic education for socially deprived children and education in ecological issues to protect the environment. Ecologia provides safe, secure learning environments where youth can discover and develop their potential and make a contribution to their communities while protecting the environment.
