Forest & Bird is Aotearoa New Zealand's leading independent conservation organisation, giving nature a voice for 100 years and counting. Every day, Forest & Bird's members, supporters, and staff speak up for nature and put in the hard yards to protect it. WDC's work combines concern for the welfare of individual whales, dolphins and porpoises with efforts to ensure the protection of the species, populations and their habitats. We conduct research, provide advice to decision makers about how to protect the animals and fund conservation and education projects around the world, working for solutions which benefit people and animals.

To promote, encourage and foster research in the fields of and relating to fruitgrowing and to disseminate and make available the results thereof for public use and for the improvement of human knowledge and to generally concern itself in fruitgrowing research within Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. (b) The promotion and improvement of the standards of training and education in the Hawke's Bay fruitgrowing industry. (c) To assist in the education of persons associated with the fruitgrowing industry in Hawke's Bay. (d) To promote education in the subject of fruitgrowing. (e) To establish and support professorships, fellowships, lectureships, scholarships and prizes. (f) To relieve poverty among persons who are or were engaged in activities and employment associated with the Hawke's Bay fruitgrowing industry. (g) To promote, encourage and foster education in all matters in, or relating to, the Hawke's Bay fruitgrowing industry. (h) To promote, encourage and foster any aspect of the fruitgrowing industry likely to be of benefit to Hawke's Bay and whether as a result of increased efficiency, improved productivity, improved product, or better marketing. (i) To assist in the establishment of such organisations or structures as are necessary or desirable to achieve any of the foregoing objectives including, and without limitation, grants:

Our kaupapa is to Positively Connect Communities. We do this by providing free mobile laundry facilities, warm showers and genuine conversation to people experiencing homelessness and hardship. It's simple but significant; we provide a space and service for New Zealanders doing it tough (who we call friends). In this safe space, they can connect with each other, with our volunteers and other service providers and supporters. While our vans provide a basic human need - clean clothes and showers, the power of this service lies in offering genuine connection and conversation. Each two or three hour shift has trained volunteers who provide both practical support (laundry and showers) and empathetic connection. This helps to reduce the social isolation felt by our friends who are often ignored and/or disconnected, in turn improving mental health and overall wellbeing. At each of our locations we partner with other service providers (eg. food and/or housing). One of the advantages to this is it gives us the ability to ensure our friends have access and knowledge about a wide range of additional services that can help transition them from a period of hardship.

Hauora Aotearoa is bringing daily hauora (wellbeing) practices into our classrooms to drive generational change so our kaiako (teachers) and rangatahi (youth) can live well, learn well and lead well.

It is Zahana's philosophy that participatory development must be based on local needs and solutions proposed by local people. It means asking communities what they need and working with them collaboratively so they can achieve their goals. Each community's own needs are unique and require a tailor -made response
