Forest & Bird

Forest & Bird is Aotearoa New Zealand's leading independent conservation organisation, giving nature a voice for 100 years and counting. Every day, Forest & Bird's members, supporters, and staff speak up for nature and put in the hard yards to protect it. With 45 branches, 37 reserves, and more than 120 national and local frontline conservation projects, Forest & Bird is protecting nature across all corners of Aotearoa. A specialist legal team, and conservation advocacy managers are speaking up for nature in the courts and at all levels of government, while a network of Kiwi Conservation Clubs and Youth Hubs are empowering the next generation of nature lovers. The breadth of our nature protection work makes us unique among environmental NGOs. Funded solely by the generosity of Kiwis, Forest & Bird have a collective purpose to protect indigenous biodiversity. To do that, we need strong leadership and collective action. Working together, we can create change at all levels to protect and restore our precious native wildlife.

Orange Sky New Zealand

Our kaupapa is to Positively Connect Communities. We do this by providing free mobile laundry facilities, warm showers and genuine conversation to people experiencing homelessness and hardship. It's simple but significant; we provide a space and service for New Zealanders doing it tough (who we call friends). In this safe space, they can connect with each other, with our volunteers and other service providers and supporters. While our vans provide a basic human need - clean clothes and showers, the power of this service lies in offering genuine connection and conversation. Each two or three hour shift has trained volunteers who provide both practical support (laundry and showers) and empathetic connection. This helps to reduce the social isolation felt by our friends who are often ignored and/or disconnected, in turn improving mental health and overall wellbeing. At each of our locations we partner with other service providers (eg. food and/or housing). One of the advantages to this is it gives us the ability to ensure our friends have access and knowledge about a wide range of additional services that can help transition them from a period of hardship.

Pacific Islands Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (PIANGO)

For over 30 years, the Pacific Islands Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (PIANGO) has stood as a bold and unifying force for civil society across the Pacific region. Serving 24 member countries and territories, PIANGO is the regional secretariat for National Liaison Units (NLUs), which function as national civil society platforms that coordinate and amplify the voice of local communities, grassroots groups, and non-governmental organisations. Rooted in the Pacific's cultural values and principles of development effectiveness, PIANGO's work is guided by the vision of: "A United Pacific: Strengthening the Resilient Responsiveness of our Kainga for a Peaceful and Prosperous Vanua." Its mission is equally inspiring: "To support the creation of a secure enabling environment for strong, effective, accountable and adaptive institutions that provide inclusive representation and common voice platforms and structured mechanisms for policy influencing, rooted in Pacific cultural practices and values-through sustainable, equitable, and genuine partnerships for resilient development." This powerful mandate is brought to life through PIANGO's call for "Transformative Partnerships for a Resilient Sustainable Pacific", a call aligned with Agenda 2030 and grounded in uniquely Pacific approaches to development, resilience, and solidarity. PIANGO's work focuses on four strategic pillars: Governance and Leadership - Strengthening national platforms and cultivating visionary leaders who are grounded in community and capable of guiding resilient institutions. Voice - Amplifying community perspectives and ensuring vulnerable groups have meaningful influence on national, regional, and global policy-making. Approaches - Promoting Pacific-led and evidence-based approaches to development, rooted in indigenous knowledge, traditional practices, and critical research. Partnerships - Building inclusive, equitable, and long-term collaborations across civil society, governments, and donors to support a thriving, accountable civic space. In today's context of global uncertainty, climate risks, and shrinking civic space, PIANGO is committed to enabling local leadership, defending civic freedoms, and promoting people-centred, holistic development that reflects the hopes and wisdom of the Pacific peoples.
