North Shore Rescue (North Shore Search and Rescue) is a Mountain Search and Rescue Team based in Vancouver, BC and performs approximately 90 rescues/year. The team consists of approximately 40 volunteers skilled in search and rescue operations in mountain, canyon and urban settings. The team depends on donations from government, corporations and members of the community. Without the support of the community North Shore Rescue would not be able to provide this essential and life saving service. Since 1983 Children's Place has offered a wide range of flexible, accessible, FREE early learning & family support programs. Today we serve over 2000 families from 11 different locations in central west Toronto. Programs include: family drop-ins, child development activities focusing on & exploring senses & developing motor skills, occasional childcare, community outreach, family literacy, food & nutrition support, parent & caregiver support & education, peer contact & mutual support, play & recreation, health & safety promotion, information about & referrals to other resources, toy & book lending. Our staff and volunteers are able to communicate in different languages including English, Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Somali, Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu & Italian. Participants include: young children 0 to 6, parents, expectant parents, very young parents, parents/caregivers/children with special needs, grandparents, nannies & home providers, newcomer & immigrant families.

Founded by Sam Sullivan in 1988, the Disabled Sailing Association of British Columbia (DSA) strives to increase the level of independence, motivation and quality of life for people with significant physical disabilities through the sport of sailing. DSA's operations are based out of the Jericho Sailing Centre on English Bay in Vancouver and operate annually from June through August. Our core program is designed to accommodate a range of disabilities and sailing skill levels. With the Sip 'n' Puff autohelm control system and the specially designed Martin 16 sailboat at the centre of our activities, even high quadriplegics -- those with little or no movement below the neck -- can sail independently and in complete safety. DSA is run by a highly trained and competent team of staff members and volunteers. We provide opportunities for recreational and competitive sailing as well as instruction for first-time, or novice, sailors.

Autism Society Canada (ASC) is a national incorporated non-profit charitable organization. It was founded in 1976 by a group of parents committed to advocacy, public education, information and referral, and support for its regional societies. ASC is a federation of Canada-wide provincial and territorial autism societies. By linking its member societies across the country, ASC represents the largest collective voice of the autism community in Canada.

The Saskatoon SPCA has been providing a safe shelter and finding happy homes for companion animals in Saskatoon and surrounding area since 1968. As a registered charitable organization, the Saskatoon SPCA relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to raise necessary funds to provide shelter, care, nutrition and love to an average of 5,500 abandoned, lost, homeless and orphaned animals annually.

Lions Foundation of Canada operates Dog Guides Canada, a national school which trains and provides Dog Guides at no cost to Canadians with visual, hearing or other physical or medical disabilities. The Dog Guide programs are Canine Vision Canada, Hearing Ear, Special Skills,Seizure Response and Autism Assistance Dog Guides.

Pathways to Education Canada is a charitable organization that helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training. Pathways to Education addresses systemic barriers to education by providing leadership, expertise and a community-based program proven to lower dropout rates. Founded in 2001, Pathways operates in 12 communities across Canada, with programs in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Manitoba.

Saint Jude's Health Management Institute is a registered charity that receives no government funding so relies on the donations of individuals to provide service to those most in need.

Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island is a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds to support the health and well being of children and youth in need on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our roots go back to 1922, and we were previously known as the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and audited annually, funds are carefully allocated to facilities, services, programs, special projects and urgently needed medical equipment that help ensure children and youth develop to their full potential. RENT/UTILITY - assistance for people with an eviction notice or utility shut-off notice to help remain in their housing . . . EMERGENCY SHELTER - for adults and families. Temporary shelter and assistance in locating permanent housing . . . GENESIS - provides clothing and small household items at no cost . . . FOOD BANK - provides grocery store style selection with dry goods, bakery items, refrigerator and freezer sections. Clients can access every 21 days . . . SOUP KITCHEN - serves a hot meal 365 days of the year in a social setting.
