Providing Hope to Children One Lunch at a Time! Why Community Crew? The children we serve are going to grow up to do great things, and it’s our job to make sure that they know this. They shouldn’t be worried about where their next meal is coming from. At Community Crew, we are dedicated to providing nutritious lunches to kids who need them most. But it doesn’t stop there. Through community engagement we are helping to inspire our future leaders to understand the importance of giving back and working together. From encouraging notes in lunches to friendly smiles and high-fives at school, everything we do is aimed to help children gain the confidence they need to succeed.

Since 1954, Muscular Dystrophy Canada has been committed to improving the quality of life for the tens of thousands of Canadians with neuromuscular disorders and funding leading research for the discovery of therapies and cures for neuromuscular disorders. We strive to ensure that people with neuromuscular disorders lead full and engaged lives by providing services that increase mobility and encourage independence. We also aim to increase the awareness of neuromuscular disorders and their implications amongst Canadians to motivate changes in social policy at a national level.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is the national volutneer organization committed to reducing the burden of kidney disease through: funding and stimulating innovative research; providing education and support; promoting access to quality healthcare; and increasing public awareness and commitment to advancing kidney health and organ donation.

The BC SPCA is a provincial non-profit organization funded primarily by public donations. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and to promote the welfare of animals through a wide range of services, including cruelty investigations, emergency rescue and treatment, sheltering and adoption of homeless and abused animals, humane education, advocacy, farm animal welfare, spay/neuter programs, and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre is a non-profit organization that responds to the needs of people in our community. Our goal is not only to provide emergency food and clothing to Saskatoon's less fortunate, but also to help people learn valuable life, computer, literacy and employment skills.

The Forgiveness Project works to build understanding and give people the opportunity to move forward from trauma and conflict, enabling both personal and societal transformation.

Winnipeg Harvest shares food with those in Manitoba who are struggling to feed themselves and their families. Food is gathered from large food manufacturers and distributors, farmers and gardeners, through food drives and special events, and from members of the public. Winnipeg Harvest currently serves 58,000 persons per month with over 51% being children under 18 years of age.

Our services extend beyond simply providing food. Our programs are designed to build skills that help people move out of the cycle of poverty. We offer a full range of programs within our facility including: the provision of Emergency Food Assistance, the Food Co-operative program, Infant, Youth, Adult and Seniors Program and Employment Readiness Programs. Programs provided by outside agencies available at our facility include: Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries; Waterloo Region Community Legal Services and ACCKWA.

Annually over 1,000 women are homeless in Ottawa - Cornerstone provides shelter for over 400 women, serves over 140,160 nutritious meals and provides supportive housing for 68 women, many of whom are seniors. In addition, in 2011 Cornerstone secured permanent housing for 154 women; 65 women were enrolled in computer training, employment preparation and life skills courses. Our services are offered in an environment which promtes dignity and hope.

Lions Foundation of Canada operates Dog Guides Canada, a national school which trains and provides Dog Guides at no cost to Canadians with visual, hearing or other physical or medical disabilities. The Dog Guide programs are Canine Vision Canada, Hearing Ear, Special Skills,Seizure Response and Autism Assistance Dog Guides.
