Providence serves preschool-aged children with all types of disabilities at 6 locations across Calgary. Our unique model gives children and families a blend of programs and services built on the skills of certified teachers and therapists, and education and therapeutic assistants working directly with the children in the classroom, every day. Each classroom has a certified teacher, a teacher's assistant, an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist and a speech-language pathologist. Our mobile Outreach Team visits more than 100 of the area's daycare and day homes, as well independent schools, taking therapies right to the children in their home community. Overall, children at Providence will achieve about 80% of their education and treatment goals. Many will improve to the point where they no longer require funding for their care.

In 2007, Maclean's magazine called North Central Regina "Canada's Worst Neighbourhood"... At the Rainbow Youth Centre, we didn't believe that... more importantly, we didn't much care what Maclean's thought. The label doesn't matter. What counts is what we can do to make things better. For more than a quarter century, Rainbow has been working with the young people of North Central. From humble beginnings with 3 staff working from rented space in an abandoned creamery building, Rainbow now has more 3 dozen workers and owns its own building; a former church located across from a playground in the heart of North Central. Five major program areas: YouthCARE, Young Parent Program, Road to Employment, Youth Skills and Kids First provide programs at the Centre and in the community. The programs have grown to satisfy needs or to deal with problems in the community.

Since its inception, REACH has endeavored to meet the medical, dental, and cultural needs of the community with an emphasis on prevention and the development of programs which reflect the ongoing needs of the ever changing composition of the community. We are committed to reducing health inequities. The community of which REACH is a part is a richly diversified ethnic setting in the area known as Grandview Woodlands. REACH has a strong commitment to community development and works to build a collaborative relationship with users of the clinic.
