Brad and Vicki Margus founded the A-T Children's Project when two of their young sons were diagnosed with A-T in 1993. Ataxia-telangiectasia is a genetic disease that attacks in early childhood. It progressively affects coordination, predisposes children to lethal cancers, and severely compromises their immune systems. Children with A-T are usually unable to walk by the age of ten and rarely live beyond their teens. By supporting and coordinating aggressive research, we hope to give them a chance to live and to enjoy life's possibilities.

The mission of BlackGirlsHack Foundation is to increase representation and empower Black girls and women in the field of information security and cyber security through skills training, mentoring, resume review, and access to low-cost resources in an inclusive environment.

The Center for Coastal Studies conducts scientific research with emphasis on marine mammals of the western North Atlantic and on the coastal and marine habitats and resources of the Gulf of Maine. We promote stewardship of coastal and marine ecosystems and conduct educational activities that encourage responsible use and conservation. We collaborate with other institutions and individuals whenever possible to advance our mission.

TO ADDRESS GEOLOGIC ASPECTS OF ISSUES DEALING WITH THE WORLD'S CHANGING ENERGY CHALLENGES, USES, SAFETY, POLICIES AND ASSOCIATED ENVIRONMENTAL QUESTIONS. TO PRESERVE GEOLOGIC MAPS AND CROSS SECTIONS, DIGITIZING THEM SO THAT THEY CAN BE PRESERVED IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) FILES AND MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC VIA THE FOUNDATION'S WEB SITE.

The Mission of the Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association is promotion of the legacy of Maria Mitchell and exploration, education and enjoyment of Nantucket’s land, waters and skies beyond. In fulfilling our mission we recognize the historic persona of Maria Mitchell, the foremost American woman scientist and educator of the 19th century, and her potential impact on contemporary thought by passing on her legacy of intellectual curiosity, respect for and love of nature, learning by doing, and the ideal of individualism. Maria Mitchell’s contributions to astronomy, science, and education are the basis for our continuing tradition of high quality research and teaching which inspires today’s learners and tomorrow’s scientists. The NMMA provides scientific resources and educational programs for the community, uses Nantucket Island as an exceptional natural laboratory in which to study science and the environment, and maintains research and/or representative collections of Nantucket’s biodiversity. We strive to delight our members, supporters, and visitors by providing high quality programs, services, and facilities. We strive to ensure our financial viability and the preservation of our buildings and important collections so that current and future generations can share in this legacy.
