GAPPS' Mission is to Improve Birth Outcomes Worldwide. Globally, prematurity is the leading cause of death for newborns. Additionally, each year a staggering 2.6 million infants die just minutes or hours before birth — and in many cases of stillbirth, the loss is compounded when the mother also dies. GAPPS is leading a collaborative, global effort to increase awareness and accelerate innovative research and interventions that will improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes around the world.

The mission of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is to inspire people to live in harmony with the natural world by fostering love, appreciation, and understanding of the Sonoran Desert. The Museum is regularly listed as one of the top ten zoological parks in the world due to its unique approach in interpreting the complete natural history of a single region (in our case this is the Sonoran Desert and adjacent ecosystems). Not a “museum" in the usual sense, it is an unparalleled composite of plant, animal, and geologic collections with the goal of making the Sonoran Desert accessible, understandable, and valued.

The problem - The health of our biosphere – our life support system – is decreasing due to climate change and the needs associated with a growing human population. The mission of c3 is to utilize the power of media, arts and story to add in the evolution of humanity on a personal, social and global level. The Center for Whale Research is dedicated to the study and conservation of the Southern Resident killer whale (orca) population in the Pacific Northwest. Since 1976 the Center for Whale Research (CWR) has been the leading organization studying the Southern Resident killer whales in their critical habitat: the Salish Sea. CWR performs health assessments to ensure the viability of the whale population, informing elected officials of their ecosystem needs, and sharing the whales’ story with the world. Our 43 years of research has created the only long-term data set about the behavior, health, and social dynamics of the Southern Resident killer whales.
