Founded in 1984, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is a unique cooperative project of the City of Boca Raton, the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District, Florida Atlantic University, and Friends of Gumbo Limbo. To create curiosity thru the exploration in astronomy. To get youth interested in Steam and Steam (arts added) one must get them curious. Memorization off a blackboard is in-effective BUT if one can get them curious then it is soaked up like a sponge! When people go to the observatory and use our scopes, it is eye opening and a bit of Mr. Wizard. Our handicap accessible and user friendly observatory encourages thinking outside the box.

The National Society of Black Engineers aims to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. NSBE DC provides scholarships to students in the Washington D.C. Metro Area and offers professional development and volunteer opportunities for both members and the local community at large.

Founded in 2001, ACORE is a 501 (c)(3) national non-profit organization that unites finance, policy and technology to accelerate the transition to a renewable energy economy. We are the focal point for collaborative advocacy across the renewable energy sector, supported by hundreds of members spanning renewable energy technologies and constituencies, including developers, manufacturers, top financial institutions, major corporate renewable energy buyers, grid technology providers, utilities, professional service firms, colleges & universities, government agencies and allied non-profit groups.

As mandated in its Act of Incorporation and Congressional Charter, the NAS has, since 1863, served to "investigate, examine, experiment, and report upon any subject of science or art" whenever called upon to do so by any department of the government.
