The DEA Youth Dance Program, to expand its effective youth outreach. Under the previous name D.A.R.E. Dance, the program excelled for eleven years, teaching prevention through the visual arts and receiving a great deal of praise from the students, parents, administrators and local press. It is clear that children and teens respond to prevention messages when they are presented in a method in which they can relate. By reaching out to America's schools and under the powerful name of DEA and The DEA Educational Foundation, The Dance Program will inspire youth with healthy and drug-free messages, and encourage them to exercise and express themselves artistically. Additionally, The DEA Youth Dance Program will provide opportunities for children and teens to serve as role models, and to participate with other youth as they explore the areas of peer -pressure, self esteem building, and decision-making. The impact of drugs on America is staggering. Each year, illegal drugs cost society billions in added social costs, contribute to thousands of deaths, and generate hundreds of thousands of violent crimes. Drugs also play a significant role in domestic violence and child neglect - problems that destroy the lives and dreams of children. For this reason, The Dance Program leaders are committed to continuing to find the most innovative ways to reach youth with prevention messages and information and determined to keep this valuable program not only in each of the 25 cities where we currently have programs, but start to reach its wait-list as well. The Dance Program adds to the mission of The DEA Educational Foundation as it educates children about prevention through an artistic outlet.

Despite significant reductions across the nation, tobacco use is still the number one cause of preventable death in the United States, killing more than 400,000 people every year. Since being established in 1999, the American Legacy Foundation (Legacy) has developed a comprehensive understanding of the tobacco crisis and the many issues that surround it. Legacy is the nation's largest and most effective independent public health charity dedicated to tobacco use prevention and smoking cessation. Our mission is to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. By giving young people the facts and information they need to reject tobacco and adult smokers the tools they need to quit and stay quit, Legacy is helping people live longer, healthier lives. Families Anonymous is a fellowship of people whose lives have been affected by the use of mind-altering substances or related behavioral problems of a relative or friend. Any concerned person is encouraged to attend our meetings, even if there is only a suspicion of a problem. Many recovery programs are available for our addicted loved ones, when they are ready to seek help and recovery. However, Families Anonymous is there for us: the parent, grandparent, sibling, spouse, significant other or other relative or friend. When you come into our rooms you are no longer alone, but among friends who have experienced similar problems. By attending meetings, studying the literature, talking to other members and working the 12 Steps of the program, our situation begins to look different to us and our reactions to it begin to change. In meetings, we share our experience, strength and hope, as we begin our own journey of recovery.
