Working in partnership with the Rwandan Ministry of Health, and the Rwanda Heart Foundation, TeamHeart will address the burden of cardiac disease: Through surgical development trips, TeamHeart will address the suffering of adolescents and young adults afflicted with advanced rheumatic heart disease in Rwanda with life saving surgical intervention. To work with the medical and nursing staff Rwanda to build a sustainable regional center of excellence in cardiac care. To increase the identification of disease though capacity building, provide appropriate post operative follow up care. To prevent advanced rheumatic heart disease through a combined effort of surveillance, prevention, education and early intervention as an example of effective countrywide intervention against rheumatic heart disease that can inspire replication in sub-Saharan Africa.

HRHF is an arm of Hope Rising Homes, Corporation (HRHC). Our mission is to give orphans, vulnerable and at-risk children a better life, by providing hope for a brighter future and a vision of life beyond their present vulnerable situations. His journey included a “road to destruction and near death” as he battled drug addiction to cocaine and alcohol for over 30 years. He was arrested 9 times and went to 10 different long-term treatment centers. He lost his family, his marriage, his son and destroyed his career, friendships, and incurred legal and financial baggage. But his parents, along with many other close friends and family, never gave up on the power of God, and they remained on their knees for 30 years, until God miraculously answered their prayer and removed Randy’s obsession to smoke crack. He has remained clean and sober ever since then, not due to his power, but to the resurrection power and healing of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
