Good Shepherd Hospice

Good Shepherd Hospice was created in 2001 as a result of the merger of Good Samaritan, St. Charles and Mercy Hospices, representing a combined 31 years of experience. A member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, it's mission is to expand and enhance healthcare at the end-of-life for all individuals and their families living throughout Long Island, while educating the community on the philosophy and concept of hospice services. The hospice mission also seeks to educate and promote the necessity for earlier referrals to a hospice so the patient and family have the ability to make informed decisions regarding care. GSH is accessible to all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, lifestyle or economic status. Hospice services are available on a 24-hour/7 day per week basis and are provided across a variety of settings including patients' homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living centers and hospitals.
