Makor Disability Services/Women’s League Community Residences is a professional organization committed to the philosophy that every person, regardless of his or her level of ability, must be treated with the utmost dignity and respect. It is our belief that every person with intellectual and developmental challenges should be afforded the opportunity to maximize his or her functional, social and intellectual potential. This is accomplished through appropriate, individualized, person-centered programming. In addition, each person should be living in an atmosphere of acceptance, warmth, understanding, and security that upholds the rights of each individual and provides developmental opportunities both individually and as a member of the community. It is our belief that personal growth flows first from an improved sense of self worth, and that all programming must be formulated toward this goal of self actualization. Every 14 seconds, a child is orphaned by AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Nyumbani serves these abandoned children in Kenya, providing a loving home, medical services and community-based care in the slum communities of Nairobi. Nyumbani Village is a self-sustaining community to serve orphans and elders who have been left behind by the "lost generation" of the AIDS pandemic.

AccessCNY offers person-centered services that empower individuals of all ages and abilities to reach their full potential as part of our shared community. Services are provided with dedication, compassion, innovation, and commitment.AccessCNY provides services to over 3,000 individuals in five primary areas: programs for individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries (ABI), services for those with mental health issues, clinical services for those with disabilities, preschool education and Consumer Directed Homecare. All services empower individuals to reach their unique level of independence.

Our mission is to provide comfort care at the end of life. We believe that a life fully lived, no matter how long, should include an end-of-life experience of comfort, dignity, and peace. Our goal is to keep each patient as comfortable and independent as possible, while supporting the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and their loved ones. We were the first non-profit Hospice in the area and one of the first 100 Hospices in the nation. Our founders were a group of dedicated doctors, nurses and community volunteers that began providing care to the dying on their own time. Our organization began in 1979 before there was insurance reimbursement for Hospice care and this dedication to our patients remains our culture to this day. Ionia Area Hospice approached Hospice of Lansing joined forces and a formal partnership was formed in 1984. Should the time come when it is no longer possible for a patient to remain at home, Stoneleigh Residence is a unique, comfortable, peaceful, and home-like alternative. Surrounded by gardens, a cascading pond, trees and wildlife, the Residence is designed to take full advantage of the natural beauty of its wooded 20-acre site. We are a true community-based Hospice, created out of necessity and driven by our mission to serve all by bringing kindness, respect and quality to the end-of-life. Hospice of Lansing, Stoneleigh Residence and Ionia Area Hospice provide pain management and personal care, respite care, emotional and spiritual support for patients, volunteer support and grief support for family members after the loss.

Millions of people get burned every day and there is still plenty to be done on a global level. The DOL Burn Foundation is the solution that will help provide access to medical treatment, emotional therapy, retreats, improved burn prevention education, innovative products for burns, and help give burn survivors the tools to pursue their dreams. By creating an international network of burn camps, they will develop a strong support system that will help them learn how to use their wounds as instruments of strength.

The Lake Drive Foundation’s mission is to help families of hearing impaired babies during the most critical years of brain development—birth to age 3—regardless of their financial status. The Lake Drive Foundation, comprised of a volunteer board of trustees including business and community leaders, educators and pediatric hearing loss professionals, raises money exclusively for the Sound Start Babies™ Program, an early intervention program for babies with hearing loss.
