A strong community needs great health care close to home. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the Foundation supports the Health Centre’s remarkable physicians and staff as they take care of our community. Donations support facility renovations to our patient care areas. For example, support from donors helped build a new wing that opened in 2012. Donors also help purchase essential medical equipment, like a new endo-bronchial ultrasound that pinpoints lung cancer, and funds training for our dedicated health care professionals. Current priorities include renovating our patient spaces like lounges and waiting areas to make the more comfortable for patients and families; building a new Dialysis Centre; and building and equipping two new Interventional Suites in our Diagnostic Imaging department.

The Alzheimer Society of Calgary is an independent, local non-profit organization serving Calgary and surrounding areas. For thousands of local families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, this is where community, insight and empowerment begin. We work to ensure that people impacted by dementia have access to high quality education, care and support throughout their journey of impact.

Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation is a fundraising organization dedicated to improving health care services for the residents of Muskoka and East Parry Sound. The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation was established as a registered charity in 1984 to receive, maintain and distribute funds raised by personal donations, grants, capital projects and special event fundraising, and special programs not covered by government grants. Although the Foundation does not contribute to operating costs, its mandate is to provide ongoing capital and education resources for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare - Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

Direct-MS was founded by persons affected by MS for the benefit of persons with MS. We provide information not available at larger MS charities which focus on drug therapies for MS. The charity has no employees and is run entirely by volunteers. Almost all funds collected (98%+) go to research and information dissemination.

At the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, every day is an inspiring reminder of what we can achieve by providing HIV treatment and other supports for people whose lives are impacted by HIV/AIDS and the additional challenges of addiction, mental illness, poverty and discrimination. The Day Health Program and 24-hour specialized care Residence at the Dr. Peter Centre improve people's health and make a significant contribution to Vancouver's complex health care system. The Centre's progressive model of HIV/AIDS care is a source of inspiration for local, national, and international health care organizations and policy makers in responding to the new challenges in HIV/AIDS care. Our community of care is built on acceptance and support, helping people find strength in the face of an illness which does not have a cure. St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation is known for building lasting, mutually rewarding partnerships that enable St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, a multi-campus, teaching hospital, to provide the best in compassionate patient care and innovative medical research. In June 2011, the Foundation publicly launched Timeless Care, Tomorrow’s Discoveries – The Campaign for St. Joseph’s Healthcare, which will raise $75 million to support three vital projects at the hospital: the opening of a state-of-the-art surgical centre on the Charlton Campus; the creation of a new integrated mental health and medical care facility on the West 5th Campus; and the funding of vital healthcare research at St. Joe’s. These projects will touch the lives of two million Ontarians who live in the region served by St. Joseph’s.

Wellspring is open to all cancer patients, their families and care givers, all of whom are known as members. Wellspring is welcoming and comfortable in nature, external to hospitals or treatment centres, and is devoid of any “institutional” feeling. Volunteers and group leaders providing programs at Wellspring deliver only cancer support services and not medical treatment or medical therapies, nor services for patients with diseases other than cancer. Wellspring receives no government funding and offers all programs and services at no charge to our members and without referral.

PALS is a non-profit, registered, charitable organization located in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of individuals through pet therapy. Volunteers and their pets currently visit at 50 facilities throughout the city including hospitals, seniors' long-term care facilities, classes for children with special needs, residential care and other care facilities that provide programs for individuals with limited access to the greater community. In addition, PALS has partnered with the Calgary Public Library for the Story PALS literacy program. This program gives children with literacy issues an opportunity to improve their skills through reading to dogs. All PALS programs are provided free to the participants and facilities we serve.

Alzheimer Society of Durham Region is a non-profit, charitable organization founded in 1979. Offering support and education to people with dementia and their carepartners through one-to-one support, support groups and public education.

Each month 40,000 Nova Scotians face the harsh realities of hunger - children, adults, seniors. FEED NOVA SCOTIA helps feed hungry people by collecting and distributing food to 153 member agency food banks and meal programs in Nova Scotia, and strives to eliminate hunger and poverty through research, awareness and support programs. Rather than allocating funds to individual agencies donations are used as follows: Feeding hungry people: We distribute food to our member agencies using a fair share system so people across the province have access to food in times of need. Each year we sort and distribute almost 2 million kilograms of food that comes to us from a variety of sources. Eliminating hunger and poverty: Through statistics and stories, we provide a clear picture of hunger and poverty in Nova Scotia and encourage others to join the call for change. We offer programs that support people experiencing food insecurity and help provide a chance for a new start.

The Bonnechere Manor Foundation is a registered charity made up of a group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds to enrich the quality of life for all residents and clients at the Bonnechere Manor. Whether it is an Auditorium, state-of-the-art equipment, or programs to enrich the residents' quality of life, the Foundation is dedicated to making Bonnechere Manor truly a home-away-from-home. The Foundation is also a vehicle to raise funds that support capital projects and other programs that are not funded through existing Ministry of Health and Long Term Care mechanisms.
