The Walden Woods Project was founded in 1990 to protect land of ecological and historic significance surrounding Walden Pond. At that time nearly half of the Walden Woods' 2,680 acres remained unprotected from development. Two large tracts of land (a total of 43 acres) were under immediate threat as developers sought to construct an office park and a large condominium complex in close proximity to Walden Pond. In January 1991, the Walden Woods Project raised enough money to buy the 25-acre Bear Garden Hill site. A few years later, the Project acquired a second parcel, known as Brister?s Hill. In 1998, the Walden Woods Project opened The Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods containing over 8,000 volumes and 60,000 items of Thoreau-related materials and launched its two trademark teacher education programs, Approaching Walden and Finding Walden.

(UER) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit urban land trust, formed to work with landowners across the greater washington, D.C. area to preserve or develop green spaces that serve multiple, integrated ecosystem functions — also known as eco-functioning spaces (EFS)* — and then to protect these spaces, and their functions, over time.

These teachings are referred to as the "ANCESTRAL HOLISTIC WISE WAYS". We intend to support and assist in the development of his mission by facilitating the elements needed to fulfill his goal in every possible way, as is creating functional places and sanctuaries needed where people can holistically be educated about all that relates to the ecological, environmental and natural safekeeping and caretaking of themselves and the planet. At the same time we will aid in protecting his spiritual ancestors the Kogi of the Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta, and the Muiscas of the Savannah of Bogota, Colombia and any other indigenous custodians that still hold the original commission of the Creator by raising funds to recover their sacred sites and ancestral wisdom.

Unite to Light aims to bring light to people without electricity across the world. The organization focuses on the neediest of the needy: children learning to read, midwives and health clinics, and disaster response. Founded in 2010, Unite to Light has delivered 75,000 lights to 65 countries.

Watershed Alliance works to educate and engage community members to be active stewards of the SW Washington area’s natural legacy, with a focus on creeks, lakes, and other water bodies. We educate children and adults, while giving them hands on opportunities to participate in the restoration and protection of waterways.

The Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue (YUWR) and Education Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. We are dedicated to the rehabilitation of orphaned and injured wildlife living in urban city centers and education of the public about how to live harmoniously with our cities’ wildlife. We serve the San Francisco Bay Area in the State of California, USA. When an injured or orphaned wildlife mammal is found, we nurse these animals back to a healthy state where they are able to be released back into the wild. Through education to children and adults alike, we try to raise awareness of these wild residents of our cities in the hope that a better co-habitation will lead to less injuries/orphans and more enjoyment of the urban wildlife with which we share our cities. We are a grassroots organization and are 100% volunteer-run and donation-funded! Our Mission: To heal the sick and injured/orphaned animals brought to us and ready them for release back into our Urban Wilds. To educate people of all ages in the wonder and enjoyment of wildlife and nature and why it is so vital we protect it. To teach patience and compassion so that urban wildlife is viewed in a more positive light by everyone- not as pests, but as important co-habitators of our environment.

The mission of Transition Town Media is to build resilience in all sectors of the Greater Media PA community. We support and create local programs and initiatives using educational outreach and charitable community projects to address such issues as: strengthening the local economy, re-localizing food sources, conserving energy, and building greater community connectedness.
