BEAR CONFLICT SOLUTIONS INSTITUTE (formerly Karelian Bear Shepherding Institute of Canada)

Bear mortality related to human conflicts is perhaps the largest single factor affecting long-term population viability. As human populations continue to extend into bear habitat throughout North America, either through residential development, recreational use or industrial use, bear human conflicts increase. Our organization aims to reduce human caused bear mortality and incidents of human-bear conflict. This is achieved through specialized training courses and innovative applied research. We are involved in a variety of initiatives that focus on reducing people’s interactions with bears while living, working and recreating in bear country. These include our unique Bearproof Garbage Bin Loaner Program, Bear Hazard Assessments, and Natural Attractant Management. Please see www.bearconflict.org for more information.

Interfaith Encounter Association (IEA)

The IEA works to promote real coexistence and human peace in the Holy Land and the Middle East through interactive inter-religious dialogue. We believe that, rather than being the cause of the problem; religion can and should be a source of solution for conflicts in the region and beyond. We do not believe in blending all traditions into one undifferentiated group, but in providing a table where all can come and sit in safety and ease, while being fully who they are in their respective religions

Earthsave Canada

A registered charity since 1992 we advocate the move towards a more whole food, plant-based diet for environmental sustainability, better health, and compassion toward animals. We also believe communities are stronger when they set a table that people from all cultures and beliefs can enjoy. Help Earthsave Canada bring educational tools into schools and workplaces and create awareness of the effects our diet has on every living creature. Frye Festival

On behalf of our community we bring the best local, national and international authors, poets, playwrights, graphic novelists, spoken word artists and storytellers to Moncton, New Brunswick for a bilingual Festival during the last week in April. Authors feed the imaginations of children, families, students and booklovers through the workshoprs, readings and dialogues, round tables and lectures. All events are open to the public and take place in a wide variety of venues, such as schools, cafés, restaurants, bars, theatres, shopping malls and libraries all over the region. The Frye Festival has made an indelible mark on New Brunswick. It has inspired change and hope and brought our communities together like no other event. The Frye Festival is firmly established in the psyche of the province and will continue to grow, improve and inspire future generations to see the power of the imagination.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership

Established in 1986, Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) is the non-profit organization transforming and revitalizing Buffalo Bayou, Houston's most significant natural resource. BBP's geographic focus is the 10-square mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou from Shepherd Drive to the Port of Houston Turning Basin. Thanks to the generous support of foundations, corporations, individuals and government agencies, BBP has raised and leveraged more than $150 million for the redevelopment and stewardship of the waterfront - spearheading award-winning projects such as Sabine Promenade and Sesquicentennial Park, protecting land for future parks, constructing hike and bike trails, and operating comprehensive clean-up and maintenance programs. In 2015, BBP completed the $58 million Buffalo Bayou Park project that includes major destinations, natural landscaping, footpaths, trail lighting, water features and pedestrian bridges. Buffalo Bayou Partnership maintains and operates Buffalo Bayou Park, with annual funding provided by the Downtown Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) #3. Buffalo Bayou Partnership also seeks ways to activate Buffalo Bayou through pedestrian, boating and biking amenities; volunteer activities; permanent and temporary art installations; and wide-ranging tours and events that attract thousands.
