The American Chestnut Land Trust preserves and cares for natural and cultural landscapes in the Parkers Creek and Governors Run watersheds and promotes land conservation across Southern Maryland. It provides environmentally sustainable public access to preserved properties for education, scientific study, recreation, and cultural programs.

The Bird Conservation Fund is a U.S. non-profit dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats globally, with a focus on threatened and endangered species. We accomplish this by raising funds to make small grants to support direct conservation, applied research and through raising public awareness of the plight of threatened bird species.

RecycleBalls collects, repurposes, and recycles used tennis balls to keep them out of landfills and to supply reusable products (dog toys, “Green Gold” rubber crumb for arena footing, etc.). The nonprofit builds a nationwide volunteer and partner network to scale collection, reuse, and recycling across tennis facilities and communities.

The association works to protect and maintain Lake Nuangola’s water quality and shoreline environment while supporting community amenities and events. It funds and coordinates lake management (monitoring and weed control), preserves the pavilion and public resources, and promotes the general betterment of the lakeside community.

The Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary helps wild animals and their habitats thrive through a unique harmony of wildlife rehabilitation, public education, and community collaboration.
