Therapeutic Paws of Canada is a national Non-Profit volunteer organization providing dog and cat visitation resources for human needs (physical, mental, educational, motivational, and socialization) through regular visits to hospitals, residences, schools, etc.

The GBCTA has three main program initiatives. The organization has successfully built two trails around the hamlet of Bragg Creek, and is pursuing the development of a trail connecting the hamlet to west Bragg Creek Kananaskis Country. In addition, the association is developing and maintaining summer and winter hiking, biking, snowshoeing and ski trails at west Bragg Creek. In addition to funding from private donations, the association also pursues corporate and foundation financing to build and maintain trails. The Association's volunteer activities have contributed to an improved visitor experience to the Bragg Creek area, generating economic activity for local business, while encouraging safe and healthy lifestyle opportunities. The development of an All-Season Trail network in west Bragg Creek will improve the recreational and tourism options for the businesses in the Hamlet.

Responsible for creating the future vision for one of Manitoba’s most prized treasures, Assiniboine Park Conservancy is the not-for-profit organization that is planning to redevelop and manage Assiniboine Park’s operations and ensure its ongoing financial viability. Transformational plans are underway to enhance the green space, create best-in-class facilities, and become a model of conservation – while protecting the park’s cherished character for the benefit of all citizens. Chaired by Hartley Richardson, the board of Assiniboine Park Conservancy is composed of influential leaders, who have a deep sense of responsibility for this community-owned asset. Assiniboine Park Conservancy will rally the help of citizens, government, and the private sector, to raise the capital required to bring this vision into reality.

Food4Kids provides backpacks of healthy food for kids with limited or no food during weekend periods. Packages of healthy foods are prepared off-site by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend. Each food package contains kid friendly, non-perishable and easy to prepare meals with maximum nutrient value. For many children, hunger is not an occasional missed meal... it is a way of life. Children are often helpless in controlling the food supply in their homes. Food4Kids ensures children lacking food are provided with nourishment vital to their physical, emotional, cognitive, social and academic success. The cost per backpack is $10.00 or $400 to feed a child for an entire school year.

Everyone needs help at some time- our goal is to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable street youth here in Vancouver. The H.E.L.P. Scholarship Fund gives street youth the chance at a better life through education, skills learning and apprenticeship.

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is the leader in wetland conservation. A registered charity, DUC partners with government, industry, non-profit organizations and landowners to conserve wetlands that are critical to waterfowl, wildlife and the environment. • DUC has 139,000 grassroots supporters across the country, including 6,200 volunteers. • DUC was established in 1938 by conservation-minded waterfowlers who recognized the importance of wetlands. For over 27 years in Durham Region, Girls Inc. has helped girls at-risk achieve their full potential. We've provided thousands of girls knowledge, skills, and attitudes to overcome social, emotional, and economic challenges in order to achieve their full potential. Girls who participate in Girls Inc. programs: Grow self-esteem that carries over to home, school, and the community; Develop sound decision-making and communication skills; Assert themselves as confident individuals throughout their lives; Build key leadership and strong work skills; Create meaningful, supportive peer groups. Programs cover a variety of topics such as: - Body image and self esteem - Bullying and violence prevention - Health & relationships - Peer pressure - Substance use prevention - Science, math & technology - Financial literacy - Sports participation

The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (BGCO) has served the Ottawa community since 1923, reaching out to 4,500 children and youth each year through after-school, weekend and summer programs that build self-esteem and help to develop stronger social skills. We utilize an integrated model of age-appropriate social, recreational and academic activities that include proven strategies for building positive relationships, mentoring, conflict resolution, skill development and employment training. These programs are developed in collaboration with families, local schools and other community partners to create comprehensive healthy living opportunities for children and youth.

OWL became a registered non-profit society in January 1985. We operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, on an “on-call” basis. We are open every Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 3 pm during the winter months. Over the summer, volunteers have the chance to apply for a grant working at OWL. We are open for tours 7 days a week during the summer months. OWL offers education classes, both on– and off-site. We have over 25 ‘Front Education’ residents who stay on-site and help educate any tours our classes that visit OWL. We also have over 10 ’Side Education’ residents who visit schools, community centers, and libraries throughout the year, who also help educate the public. We are always looking for new volunteers to help with fundraising events. We are proud of our record in the field of raptor rehabilitation, and we are anxious to continue our work and to meet the ever-increasing demands on both our facilities and our dedicated volunteers.
