Fondation Papillon

To help parents whose child lives with a disability to find the specific resources they need, the Society pilots Carrefour Papillon, an on-line reference service that lists hundreds of resources offering services directly related to the needs of people with disabilities. Residence Papillon and Auberge Papillon offer the families respite stays. These services provide the parents with a bit of rest and gives the children the opportunity to have fun and meet other youngsters in a warm family atmosphere. The Society wishes to further extend its action and increase its support to the thousands of children who must learn to confront the daily challenges inherent in living with a disability. To reach this objective, the Society relies on the contribution of the public and private companies from all backgrounds, as well as thousands of volunteers who, driven by the same spirit, join their efforts to help these young butterflies with a broken wing to spread their wings.

ST ANDREW'S HESPELER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Here at St. Andrew’s we feel it is important to serve not only our members, but the community that we call home, Hespeler, Cambridge. Several groups and agencies have found a home here. Thursdays have become a very important day at St. Andrew’s. Starting late morning the Self-Help Food Bank opens up to better serve clients in the Hespeler area. The Community Clothing Centre is also open. The food bank sees around 40 families access their program every 2 weeks while the Clothing Centre sees approximately 100 people per month. Once evening arrives wonderful smells can lead you to our Thursday Night Supper & Social (provided from October to April each year). About 40 people come to eat each week. St. Andrew’s Hespeler currently find ourselves in the need of replacing our very old heating system (in the original building) and asbestos remediation/removal. In order to continue being a vital part of the Hespeler Community we are asking for your help.
