Founded in 1983, the Mennonite New Life Centre is a multi-cultural settlement organization that supports people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds to participate fully in all aspects of Canadian life. Our programs bring together community engagement and community services, working together with newcomers to reduce insecurity and enable integration, strengthen voices and increase social equality. Newcomers receive settlement services, language instruction, employment mentoring, and mental health supports, together with opportunities to engage with civic participation workshops and a newcomer advocacy committee. In sum, the Mennonite New Life Centre is a place of welcome, friendship and community, where newcomers and neighbours gather to support each other, learn from each other, and take action together for a more just and compassionate society.
Habitat Services was established in 1987 to help address concerns of boarding homes with very poor living conditions and to improve the quality of life for tenants. The concept of using a contract to standardize services and improve housing standards in boarding homes was developed. The details were worked out in consultation with consumer/survivors, advocates, representatives of the provincial and municipal governments, mental health workers and boarding home owners/operators. The result was the Habitat Services contract model which is unique in Ontario. It is based on a contract between Habitat Services, a non-profit agency, and the owners of private sector and non-profit boarding homes. Regular monitoring of the houses ensures compliance with the contract standards. On-site housing support services for tenants are provided. Habitat funded homes provide permanent housing for 931 adults at 45 different locations across Toronto.

With your support we will be able to provide a place our residents can call home and receive the support services they need to age in place. And with your help we can make this happen.

Over 45,000 children were reported missing in Canada in 2011. That’s one child every 11 minutes. When a child first goes missing, the police, the media and the community all rally together to help the terrified and anxious family search for their child, but as time goes by, that involvement inevitably decreases. It is for these families that the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) was established in 1986. Our unique and comprehensive programs serve families in the critical hours after a child goes missing and provide ongoing support until the child is found, investigative programs that assist police and searching families, mental health programs that help families deal with the emotional consequences of a missing child, and critical awareness generating campaigns that allow us to provide essential support for searching families. We are 100% funded by donations. And we provide our services at no cost to families.
The Mission Association for Community Living (MACL) was founded in 1958 by a handful of parents who wanted to ensure educational opportunities were available to children with extra support needs. From that beginning as a grassroots family-led organization, MACL has maintained a strong committment to responding to the needs of individuals and families. We offer a wide variety of training, development, social/recreational and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities, and are an integral part of the Mission community. MACL is a place where children and adults of all abilities are supported along their journeys. Our work is guided by our values, experience and history and draws from strong roots in the community. MACL recognizes the rights of everyone to have a full range of life choices, including access to education, affordable and appropriate housing, leisure options, gainful employment and participation in the community.
